COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned - released in Autumn 2010. Also available on cask at GBBF 2010.
An oak-aged ale of real distinction that has been matured for a year in fine cognac casks, Brewer’s Reserve No. 2 is a limited edition rich amber ale with a sherry and orange aroma, luxurious chocolate palate and warming cognac finish. An exceptional beer that has been brewed and blended in the finest traditions.

EDITORS NOTE: Some sources have been erroneously applying the description for the Brewers Reserve No 1 to this beer. In fact, No 2 was aged in Cognac barrels whilst No 1 was aged in Whisky barrels.

A very strong English ale. Taste like a barley wine. Does not taste of cask, more like there is mixed cognac in the beer. Sharp and strong alcohol taste.

Rating #733, bottle shared with Jakob @ Hatten Bar. Appearance is dark amber with a certain hazyness, and a small dissapearing head. Immidiate cognac in the aroma, yeast, caramel and berries. A bit barley wine like. Flavors are sherry, berries, strawberry, caramel and yeast at most times. A bit wood maybe. Really round, smooth and creamy palate with a perfect carbonation to fit this brew. Better than the no.3 .

From bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival: a fantastic aroma of cognac and cherries. Hint of rasberries. Great mouthfeel with complexity and gentle sweetness. A five star experience!

A clear amber/light brown colored beer, with a thick foamy light beige head. The aroma of sweet malt and fruits, like apricot. The taste has also sweet fruits, some bitter with tonsal, apricot and notes of wood. The aftertaste is sweet with a little bitter.

eeez (38) - Thatcham, Berkshire, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2012
Pours deep reddy orange with a tan head which rapidly disappeared. Aroma is strong with sherry, banana and raisin. Taste is very much dominated by the cognac, with marmalade, raisin, and a liquor alcohol part especially on the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium but nicely carbonated and quite smooth. More of a watered down liquor than a beer really, but finely crafted and tasty nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, Switzerland
No. 30908, bb 2013

Bright amber color, with medium sized creamy head. The aroma is mild and delicate, with malt, fruits, vanilla; fresh. Malt and caramel flavor, not particularly rich, and with a light vegetables and alcohol touch. It may be better in a year, but not much.
