Pours hazy orange with medium head. Aroma is peat, alcohol, plums, vinegar and some dark fruits. Flavor is peat, some caramel, malts, bread and alcohol. A bit too much whisky like beer and alcohol bites too much.

500 ml bottle. Amber body with a disappearing tan head. Aroma has malt, dry fruit and hint of wood. Flavor is sweet malty, dry fruit, wood, balanced bitterness and some warming alcohol. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste. A very nice one.

Bottle. Pale amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is funk, wood, vanilla. Flavour is funk, oak, malt, berries, vanilla, malt, dried fruits. OK beer.

Bottle. Gusher. Pours mostly clear amber with a medium steady beige head. The aroma sour fruity hint with the smoke and tar in the back. The flavour is malty and fruity with light whisky notes. Light smoke and light sulfur. Alcohol is well hidden.

from Mondial de la Bière 2011, Strasbourg - hazy reddish-brown beer with a modest head retention; woody aroma with notes of vanilla and sour cherries; highly carbonated; full-bodied and pretty sweet, quite astringent; fizzy aftertaste of strawberries, pear and wood - quite hard to drink

Kaatuu lasiin kuparinruskeana ja kirkkaana, vaahto on valkoinen, muhkea ja alkuun nopeasti katoava, mutta lopussa jää noin sormen levyinen kaistale pinnalle. Vaahto myös kuohuaa runsaasti ja pitää limsamaista ääntä, johtuu ilmeisesti hiilihapoista. Haju on todella monipuolinen ja "vaikea", siitä löytyy turpeisuutta, marjaisuutta, savuisuutta, puuta, omenaisuutta ja vanilijaa. Myös hieman alkoholia tuntuu. Tynnyri on todella tuonut aromia tähän. Maku on savuinen, marjainen, vanilijainen, puinen ja makeahko. Suutuntuma on hiilihappoinen ja lopussa hieman tahmaava, alkoholikin tuntuu. Kokonaisuutena tähän asti paras maistamani viskitynnyrissä kypsytetty olut, mutta en ylipäätään ole tällaisten fani. Olutmaisuus on peittynyt jo ehkä turhankin paljon ja viskin aromit ja maut työntyvät suuhun jo liiaksikin.
