Cask at GBBF 2012, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a foamy, off-white head. Boozy malt nose with notes of honey and apple. Big sweet flavor with toasty malts, light alcohol, light caramel, a bit of ripe citrus. Full bodied with fine carbonation; a little syrupy. Warm finish with sugary toffee, faint wood, honey, caramel. Kind of nice.

Bottle at the Hung Drawn and Quartered, London, 20th October 2012 on The Thames Tipple, now well into London and running out of pubs fast, we were also in company of Ang A bit pricey at £7.75 a bottle however its a decent sized bottle so good for sharing and to be fair its a damn good beer. Loads of dark sugars, nice warmth from the alcohol, some sweet orange flavours and whilst I am not really knowledgeable about Armagnac I could tell that it’s influence could be felt. Thoroughly enjoyable beer, and proof that Fullers can really knock out some good stuff when they put their mind to it, however I actually don’t mind Fullers, I know they have their critics but I don’t mind them at all. GBBF. Can’t remember who shared this - Leighton? Bruce? Whoever it was - Cheers! Clear amber beer, no real head. Light smooth palate. Very honey orange and a tiny bit of spice. Semi dry finish. Intriguing - must try this in a bottle.

Bottle - light, crisp and dry. Fair bit of wed wood and fruity cognac. No heat. Slightly bitter and thin honey. Spicy finish. Remains an intriguing beer.

Cask at the GBBF - 08/08/12. Golden copper colour with a thin white head. Sweet malt, burnt sugar and armagnac on the nose. Taste follows nose with a little wood in there, a certain nuttiness and the armagnac once more. Medium to fully body with minimal carbonation and a warming alcohol finish.

Cask @ GBBF ’12. The pour’s deep amber with no head. the nose is light toffee, cream, some red apple skin, cinnamon, caramel. The taste is more red apple, toffee, brown sucgar and light boozy wood. I found this sickly sweet and a bit hot. Not great in its present form...
