COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The fourth incarnation of Brewer’s Reserve spent a year in the Fuller’s cellar in rare Comte de Lauvia Armagnac casks from the Bas region of France. The beer is infused with brandy characteristics, with distinctive notes of vanilla, green apple and cinnamon, a solid malt base and velvety alcohol warmth.

Bottle at the Hung Drawn and Quartered, London, 20th October 2012 on The Thames Tipple, now well into London and running out of pubs fast, we were also in company of Ang A bit pricey at £7.75 a bottle however its a decent sized bottle so good for sharing and to be fair its a damn good beer. Loads of dark sugars, nice warmth from the alcohol, some sweet orange flavours and whilst I am not really knowledgeable about Armagnac I could tell that it’s influence could be felt. Thoroughly enjoyable beer, and proof that Fullers can really knock out some good stuff when they put their mind to it, however I actually don’t mind Fullers, I know they have their critics but I don’t mind them at all. Bottle. Massive fruity nose, berries, light brown sugar, crushed flowers. Medium copper color. Moderate roasty initial, light sweet malt, sugary sweet, some good barrel notes, and it fades in finish. Medium body. Great nose, but the flavors, while pleasant, don’t quite match up.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, apricots, orange peel, dark bread, honey, oak wood, vanilla, a touch of chocolate and earthy aromas of armagnac. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, dark bread, nuts, orange peel, a touch of chocolate, spicy hints of cinnamon and vanilla, and a warming touch of armagnac in a finish with a balanced bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and interesting, with a distinct armagnac character, that stay well balanced throughout. Very nice.
