GBBF Champion Beer 1989.
Slight change of recipe in 1999.
Chiswick Bitter is Fullerís popular session strength ale, which derives its name from the area of London where Fullerís is based. This lower strength beer is held in high regard across the South East of England and, like its stablemates London Pride and ESB, has won the prestigious CAMRA Great British Beer Festival, Beer of the Year award, in 1989. In fact, Fullerís is the only brewery in England whose top three brands have won this award: a fitting testament to the skill and dedication of the Fullerís brewers!

Chiswick pours a crystal clear orange gold with a doughy biscuit aroma. The taste is biscuits, tobacco, very very light caramel. Quite nice, still not sold on tobacco flavors in a beer though...

On tap @Old Joint Stock. Nice copper colour with small white foam. Aromas of caramel, malts, biscuit. Taste has a strong malty character, caramel, fruits, hoppy notes. A bit thin but well rounded and very tasty for its low alcohol content. A good example of an English bitter.

Sparkling and tightly filtered with a floral quality, this beer promises so much but comes across as on the dilute side for what the nose offers. More concentration and a more harmonious structure would work a treat here. Great bar clip though.
