COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, like honey with some cereal and a slight sour hint. Flavour is well balanced and quaffable with sweet malt and cereal flavours. Not hugely complex but lovely all the time. I could imagine this will not hold up too well, but when it’s a fresh bottle like this that hasn’t had time to die on the shelf, it’s a very respectable blonde ale.

Bottle 50cl, a clear golden beer with meduim head. Nose is hopy, aroma is sligtly toasted with nice grassy and honey hops, good round biterness, easy dinking beer.

Bottle. Dark yellow clear colour, with creamy off white head, quickly laying into nice lace. Aroma of hops and malted barley with a touch of caramel, wheat and biscuits. Flavor goes from light bitter to light acidic, back to "saaz" bitter in the aftertaste.

4.5% Bottle, brown 500ml type. One week before it’s best before date: poured into a vase shaped ’Old Speckled Hen’ pint glass. Lagerlike in its appearance, bright golden body and a pure white head on top. The head however disappeared very quickly leaving a thin collar. Fresh bread smell with wheat esters and a sweet yeasty aroma mixed within it. This had a summer beer feel to it (it is snowing outside at the moment), tangy, sharp and highy carbonated. Wheat and Barley is used in the brew, the wheat is evident in the taste more than the malted barley. An OK beer in the right circumstances, sunny and warm sort of times. Not late January (2010) when I reviewed it.

Pours a nice golden colour, big bubbled head fainting rather quickly. For the majority, this ale is a fantastic choice with food. The brew is very refreshing and is a bit sweet, yet sour. One its own it doesnt leave much though.

Golden in colour, quite well carbonated: pours with a very lively frothing but little in the way of a lasting head. Aromas are very citrussy: orange and lemon peel, and honey, The lemsip flavour continues through the initially slightly tart taste and sweet aftertaste. A refreshing beer with a strangely "sweet & sour" taste.

Tried this back ’09.
Just on cool, out the bottle. Orange gold and sparkling with little in the way of carbonation. A Houdini head; now you see it, now you don’t. Aroma is sweet and reminiscent of orange toffee glaze, ripe peaches and apricot, and just a speckle of wheat. Sweetish start in the mouth. Nice, juicy citric flavours, tangy and zesty across the tongue with a subtley astringent bite in the back. Crisp, moderately bitter finish. Dusty malt and earthy hops give contrast to the fruity notes. A linger of what I can only describe as banana leaves builds as it goes. The body is good, or at least of what I expected from Fuller’s with prickly carbonation giving good bounce. Overall easy drinking ale that could benefit from being served chilled. (50cL, 4.5% ABV, BB 12/04/10, Rose Hotel Bunbury)

50cl bottle. Pours crisp golden colour with frothy white head. Biscuity malt aromas with a touch of citrus. Refreshing taste with light citrus, grass, and biscuit notes. Good summer session beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A pale and golden beer. Nice appearance with a good white head. Aroma is dominated by malty flavours, with some noticeable fruity notes. Only one hint of bitterness, that is persistent in the finish. Just easy to drink and nothing else.
