COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

Cask (handpump) at the Melton Mowbray, Holborn, London. These golden summer ales seem to come in three styles. Firstly, there’s the ones with the aromatic, fruity ones using lots of US hops. Then there’s the grassy ones with lots of German hops. And then there’s the ones like this, which seem almost like a normal bitter, except lighter in colour. There’s not a lot of aroma and not a lot of hops. Not a lot of anything really. Dry and a little citric. Perfectly drinkable but not very interesting. I see that others have rated this quite highly so perhaps the cask was a little tired. I’ll give it another go.

Dec 2012 - draught London Fleet St. May well have had it before. Very ’British’ flavoured beer in my books. Mild, light body with a bitter (but not astringent) finish. Certainly nice, but nothing to rave about.

Cask at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Clear yellowish pour, thin white head. Nice floral aroma.... in fact, it was like smelling grass! The floral aroma is carried through into the flavour where there are also citrus notes but with minimal bitterness. A very refreshing summer ale that deserves a higher rating IMO. Worth tasing.

Cask - served to warm. Slightly hazy golden colour with a small, bubbly white head that fades to nothing. Light aroma with honey, pale malts and a hint of cardboard. Light body with a thin texture, flat carbonation. Taste is light sweet. Finishes light sweet with honey and malts, and a little bit of herbs. Almost no hops. In any way a lighter golden ale.

On tap (Cask) at the Holly Bush NW3. Golden beer with no head to speak of. Initial taste is sugary and hint of peach, but quickly dies away and hint of bile in the finish. Tastes very forced, a great disappointment from Fullers.

Cask @ Fullers. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, hops, fruits and flowers. Soft carbonated and full bodied. Oily.
