gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 4, 2008 Milder than the last esb I had by Rougue. Very smooth beer. Not too bitter. Well balanced. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 1, 2008 Pours dark with a quickly dissipating head, this was not too bitter for a pale ale bitter. Goes down surprisingly smooth, though at times I wonder if this is classified incorrectly. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 30, 2008 Pours a deep brown colour with a brown head that is quick to dissipate. A very malty start. Caramel and raisins. Lots of foam and very creamy texture all the way through. It has a moderately bitter aftertaste but finishes smooth. TET (226), Finland May 30, 2008 Fullers ESB is copper-brown beer with very weak white head. Aroma is very temptating: sweet malts, toffee and fruitfull hops. Flavour is balanced and it is quite similar than aroma: quite sweet start changes more bitter into the end and civiliced hops support to flavour. Carbonation is balanced and body is strong enough to make this nice to drink. Balanced and aromatically hopped beer with very temptating aroma. TheElder (49), DeSoto, Wisconsin, USA May 28, 2008 This beer pours a clear mahogany with hints of rust red. What little head there is appears brite white. It smells like smooth cherry and brown sugar. Not quite like anything I’ve tried before. In tasting it I find it extremely smooth. It remiinds me of fresh sweet corn. Very nice. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA May 26, 2008 Bottle... Poured amber with a thin white head. Aroma is thick with malt and buttery caramel. Smooth and foamy palate. Strong, crystal malt flavors up front with caramel and balancing hops that all lend toward lemon grass and pepery spices. Snojerk321 (1923), San Diego, California, USA May 24, 2008 On tap @ Shakespeare’s pub San Diego. Clear light amber color with a fully diminishing white head. Light caramel aroma. Sweet light caramel flavor.
rayOfBeer (316), El Cerrito, California, USA May 22, 2008 Poured from tap a light brown with a large creamy, dense ivory head. Aromas of toasty biscuit, a bit of straw and some fruity note. Flavor is full of malt, bisquit, tart peach, caramel, and a grassy straw. Palate is lightly sweet with a mild bittering thoughout and a big malty mouth fullness. Overall, a nice round beer that goes well with pub grub. I’ll be having another.
