COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Douberd (2189) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAR 20, 2013
500 ml bottle, poured into an english pint glass. ABV 8.5% Itís only 4 oí clock and I hadnít noticed the alcohol when I grabbed the bottle. Too bored to go downstairs again and pick up a lighter beer, I decided to open it. Deep orange/red colour on the body, two fingers of lightly beige head, with average retention. No lacing left on the glass. Aroma of fruits. Apricots, grapes. Sugars too. Taste follows the aroma, but very sweet. Lots of sugar, malts, the alcohol notable and then lots of fruity notes. Medium on the body, light carbonation. Overall, good ale, but a bit on the sweet side for me.

SarkyNorthener (1802) - Walsall (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2013
Bottle. Red amber beer with small head that disapears. Aroma is malts. Taste is sweet malts, madeira, hops and alcohol. This slightly oily and medium bodied. A nice beer which is balanced well enough. The alcohol does come through though in the taste. I like a little more subtlety. Otherwise very decent.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2013 Red-Brown color with ejote low head. Correct aspect. Sweet aromas:honey, caramel and orange liquor; and roasty aromas: coffee. Very good and intense flavour. Roasty notes are dominant in mouth. Aswell some creamy, vanilla and spicy nuances. Médium bodied and intense bitter-sweet taste. First the sweetness and then the bitterness. Not very long end.
