Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Bottle. Clear reddish-copper color with a medium, quickly-diminishing, white head. Nice aroma with biscuity malt, toffee, caramel, fruity notes and some hops. Flavor starts with some sweet chewy maltiness and caramel, and continues with a pleasant, somewhat spicy, hop bitterness and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Pretty good.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Light malty-sweetness and moderate bitter vry well-balanced flavor. Long nice finish. Creamy palate. Much better than many barleywines......

(Bottled) Slightly hazy reddish amber color with a medium, thick and foamy head. Barley-wineous, quite sweet-toffeeish aroma with rye-puddingy maltiness. Medium to full-bodied, slightly fizzy-carbonated, sticky-sugary palate. A quite nice strong ale - although quite sweet and sticky. Not bad at all.

Nice. Pours a deep orange colour, alcohol very noticable at first with elements of butterscotch and licorique. Fruity aftertaste, this is a good beer, maybe if the alcohol was a little more disguised I’d go even higher.

Tasted at Den Tatoverede Enke in DK. Was paired excellently with their Sheppard’s pie. Not my favourite Fuller’s beer, but tasty. Pours an amber colour with white head. Taste is quite sweet, with caramel malty body, notes of apricot, cloves and grassy bitter finish.

0.33L bottle, small stable head, crystal clear and a little pale copper colour, strong aroma of yeast and herbal hops with some earthy notes. Dominant malty flavours with some nuts and light raisins and a caorse alcoholic presence which is a bit overwhelming and not very pleasant, big bodied. Could be better.

Somebody really like this? I drank Fullers Golden Pride only one time in SÃo Paulo, Brazil and it´s terrible, it taste like washmachine water.....

Bottled 50cl. Caramel, white pepper, leafy earthy english hops, pear, sweat, pop corn, bergamot orange, salt and wild strawberries in the nose- reminiscent of Young’s special London ale with a lot more butterscotch, diacetyl-elements. Caramel accentuated. Nutty and remarkably leafy. Potato components sneaking in. Complex. Sweetish. Low bitterness. Sweet leafy finish which is reminiscent of caramel. Nice, but dissapointing comparing to other beers froms Fuller’s. I’m not a big fan of Cognac. (Michael Jackson’s comparison). This beer definitely doesn’t deserve a high rating.

A good brew, howerever it has a bitterness I don’t appreciate. It is sweet, and has an asprin-like bitterness.
