COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Clear copper orange beer with a creamy head disappearing quite quickly. The aroma is caramelly malty with some alcohol. The flavor is mostly caramelly malty sweet with the alcohol coming through. Thereís a little amount of bitterness. The palate is sticky and pretty full. I would have expected something more refined or complex from this beer, now itís just mostly alcoholic.

Quite nice with a mix of caramel, roasted malts and some modest hops. A bit too sweet for my taste though.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 Op het eerste gezicht veel koolzuur. Weinig geur. Nootjes geur. Lichte alcohol branding in buik. Nootjes smaak. Alcohol brand niet in de mond maar wel in je buik. Niet lekker. Niks bijzonders. Helaas kan ik niet meer noteren als deze rating. Dit komt doordat ik dit biertje te slecht vond om er meer over te kunnen noteren.

Bottle. Pours amber with a offwhite head. Aroma is peasoup hops. Flavor has peasoup hops and bitter malts. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth being the single good thing about this ale. After warming the sweetness is over the top with raisins, making the score a bit lower.
