COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Bottle. Amber color. Plum jam in the aroma. Malty sweet, slightly earthy flavor with dried plums and marmelade. Nutmeg in the aftertaste. Likeable.

Bottled: Clear amber coloured. Beige dense head. Spices (vanilla), nuts and malt in the aroma. Flavour is sweet and furity and feels rather creamy. Marzipan notes. Alcahol is very dominant in the short as well as the long run. Is quite onedimensional imo. Something about this beer, I dont like. Probably the immense alcahol taste.

Clear golden with a large off white head. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, caramel and alcohol. Flavour went the same way. Somewhat boozy finish.

faroeviking (10288) - FAROE ISLANDS - JUL 13, 2007
Bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with a short lasting light brownish head leaving some lacing. Toasty malty, apple and bit spiced hoppy aroma with caramel. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a surprisingly good toasty maltiness and caramel, nice mild but still profound spiciness, bitter hops, alcohol and some dark fruits. Toasty and spiced, dry bitter finish. Like a thin version of a good Belgian spiced ale.

Maria (10176) - Thisted, DENMARK - APR 1, 2007
Dark amber and a creamy, nice head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and dark fruits. The flavour is rich, full, smooth, malty, fruity and full with a nice bitterness, that develops further in the finish. A beer that is worthy of itís name.

Bottle at home, from Waitrose Sunningdale, 16/02/13. Pours an almost clear dark golden with a thin white head that vamooshes edgeward allied to evidence of carbonation in the form of bubbles. Nose carries caramel, candle wax, sweet sugars, berry fruits, touch of wood, honey. Taste comprises sweet sugars, rich caramel notes, dark ripe orange, citrus tones, touch of booze. Medium bodied with bite, moderate carbonation, dryish sweet finish. Carbonation flattens and improves over time. Ok but to be honest Iíd rather drink standard pride any day ! Have had this on cask in the past and seem to remember it being better than this ! Need to revisit said version! Came across more so as a barley wine to me in terms of style!

light hazy ruby colour with a nice creamy head, beautiful lacing, strong hoppy aroma showing red fruits, honey, flowers and cream, full-bodied and oily, very malty and smooth, robust bitterness before a long, dry and warming hoppy finish - a wonderful brew with lot of character - big thank you to fiulijn for this one

FatPhil (9618) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 13, 2007
RIch ruddy brown, thin head. Strong apple aroma, says strong ale. Tastes very bitter and richly roasted - almost burnt. Finish is long and woody. A little alcoholic alas.

pivnizub (9030) - Bochum, PorķřŪ, GERMANY - MAY 7, 2006
Bottle: Reddish amber coloured, mid-sized, quite firm off-white head, visible carbonation; rich fruity (dryed fruit) aroma, a tinge of molasses, a touch of port and caramel; full bodied, rich sweet flavour; long lasting, warming bitter-fruity finish, becoming dry towards the end with a developing aromatic-hoppy aftertaste; well hidden alcohol. A very rich, complex brew, quite easy quaffable, from a first-class brewery !

50cl bottle shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Slightly unclear amber color, medium sized off-white head. Smell malts and lightly caramel. Taste malts, caramel, slightly hops, some bitter. Soft carbo, medium body.
