3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Pours reddish amber with a very little head. Aroma features most sweetish dark fruitiness with dried fruity notes, especially raisin. Also berries and maltier elements, such as caramel, bread and toffee, are around. Taste is light sweet, initially very fruity, later maltier. The finish is moderately hoppy, dryish and light bitter - very British. The palate is medium to full bodied, mouthfeel slick and smooth. Alcohol is hidden well. Could offer more in terms of hoppy notes, but still a nice, well balanced winter warmer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2012 500ml bottle from the LCBO, served ~15C in a Duvel tulip. Aroma: Sweet, grainy malt, candied orange, dusty grass. Appearance: bright copper, clear with an inch of creamy head that lingered and left lacing. Moderate mouthfeel, a little oily. Initially sweet malts, orange, grains, a bit of hop bitterness and some alcohol. Mix of moderate sweetness and bitterness with additional drying from alcohol. Doesnít really hide its strength much. Nicely balanced beer, not as unctuous as an old ale/barleywine style. Could be a little bigger in flavour but would make a nice strong ale for an early fall evening.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This brew sports a deep amber colour and a creamy head with a yellow hue. A strong malt base in the aroma, nuts and citrus as well. Taste is bitter form the outset, some sweetness is added. A bitter, and tantalizing finish makes for a really good beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rich and chewy, this has the rich consistency I would expect from a beer of this strength. The aroma is fruity and the flavour predominantly malty at first. It is very sweet fruity, with dried fruit, rind, and perhaps a hint of apple. The finish ushers in warmth and bitterness with a suggestion of citrus.

Very clear red amber with little bubbles. A nice foamy yellowish head. Hoppy aroma with a little caramel. Very full mouthfeel. A little vinious. A burnt feeling with some toffee. A little plums as well. Warming and pleasant.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 500ml. Pours a clear copper colour with a modest head that fades quickly. Aroma is of sweet malts and dry fruits, strong and intense. Taste is heavy and complex, very drinkable with lots of character. Great, strong finish. One of Fullerís best.
