COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

500ml bottle. Pours a small rigid white head. Colour hazy gold copper. Aroma of plum. Taste is alcoholic, heavy malt and medium sweetness. Some biscuit and red wine notes. Finish strong and malty. Lovely beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A deep amber coloured beer with a thin, beige head. There are caramel, alcohol and honey in the aroma. The taste is sweet and malty with notes of orange and bread. The texture is oily, the finish is long and bitter-sweet. It’s a good one! It will be one of my favourite beers!

Excellent. A dark amber/red ale with light brown head. Aroma is malty, fruity (plum, cherries), sherry-like, some bread and roasted too. Taste is sweet with an average bitter end. Good carbonation, medium body. A great ale.

Marvellous, quite splendid! Full and tasty barley wine. Soft and sweet with a hint of bitterness. Much less harsh than a young Fullers Vintage. This is a very special British beer. Ay, most glorious!

Reddy amber, small tan head. Clear, flat. Beautiful fruity/caramel malty aroma. Intense peppery bitterness throughout, which slightly masks some fruity flavours. Medium palate, enough carbonation. Brilliantly complex. Very good, a little too far towards the hopiness for my liking but quite well balanced. One of my favourites.

(Bottle) Pours amber with a tall dense beige head, Sweet malty aroma. Sweet malty flavor ending in a hoppy bitterness. Smooth and easy drinkable in spite of the high alcohol considering it is a all-malt beer. Really nice

A powerful and very malty beer with a warming alcohol taste( i havent worked out wether i like that yet). Deep ruby colour. If you going to drink this sort of barly wine-esk beer, might as well go for vintage, its only the bottle conditioned version of this.
