COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Bottle, 500ml. Pours a clear copper colour with a modest head that fades quickly. Aroma is of sweet malts and dry fruits, strong and intense. Taste is heavy and complex, very drinkable with lots of character. Great, strong finish. One of Fullerís best.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2008 Perfect beer for a wintery Wellington afternoon in front of the fire. Pours amber with a soft white head, sweet malty bready nose with a orangey malt flavours. Malt driven but with a bitterness that stops it being cloying.

Clear golden with a off-white head. The nose have a lot of sweet caramel and butterscotch, but there are also some dried fruit, orange and mixed undefined hops. The rich mouth goes along the same line, just more of it. A nice medium bitter ending. Altogether a very good strong ale at a comfortable price. Iíll have more of this one alright...

On tap at Birreria Accademia. First aroma was of wet socks. Two finger off-white head with clear golden ruby color. Strong alcohol taste and darker malt tones coupled with faint citrus tastes. Overly carbonated, an average beer but Iíd rather drink something else at a bar.

0,33l bottle from British Store, Budapest. Clear, dark amber color with non-durable, white head. Honey and alcohol aroma with fruits and herbs. Intensive malty aroma with honey. Sweetness, much alcohol, barley, spices and herbs, a little resin. Heavy sweet taste. Medium body with creamy texture and average carbonation. Grainy, sweet finish with a light herbal flavour. This beer is like a barley wine. Intensive alcohol and grain feeling.
