COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Clear, amber beer with a small white head. Some sweetness on the nose, peach. The body is medium plus. Mouth feel is soft and round. Alcohol warms things up. Sweet caramel, malts, slight and round bitterness, a hint of berries. Very good.

Marstonlad (730) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 23, 2012
UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Pours reddish amber with a very little head. Aroma features most sweetish dark fruitiness with dried fruity notes, especially raisin. Also berries and maltier elements, such as caramel, bread and toffee, are around. Taste is light sweet, initially very fruity, later maltier. The finish is moderately hoppy, dryish and light bitter - very British. The palate is medium to full bodied, mouthfeel slick and smooth. Alcohol is hidden well. Could offer more in terms of hoppy notes, but still a nice, well balanced winter warmer.

Brown with a small head when poured. Sugary, toffee with a slightly hoppy scent. Quite dry and only lightly carbonated. Tastes very strong with overpowering sugars and syrup, almost like a barley wine.

Odd. Canít get my head round it. Smells like a no (Yep) tastes like a no (Yep again) too much alcohol, too sweet (too malty as well, like a malt beer), but then kinda works (not unpleasant but something not quite right). But a low score cause none of the parts are very good and the sum total isnít very good (Thatís what I was thinking, some people are more eloquent though). But then there is something that works (not me, I have done bugger all today) How does that work? (Hid in my office, but it was too cold so I sat in the staff room and pretended to be busy) Definitely in the barley wine realm of beer. Joke time.... when is a wine actually a beer? When itís a barley wine. (He is actually pretty funny but this is scraping the bottom) Youíre right, iíll ignore stand-up. (Call yourself a teacher? Capital I please. ) Definitely for the best. Though I am funny, honest. (I would agree) Only problem is that in my old job I was pretty sure I was the funniest person that worked there (what about the Lox?) no longer true.... though Iím not sure all staff would agree. Theyíd be wrong if they didnít. (Correct)

Cimbasso (693) - - DEC 5, 2014
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 Copper colour with a whitish head. Good aromas of malt and dried fruit. The taste is very rich and complex - toasted malts, dried fruit, figs and marmalade all combine to give a really satisfying flavour. Very good mouth feel. This is a really lovely, subtle well-made beer. Another good one from Fullerís, and great for Christmas drinking. Just re-read my old review, and I donít want to change a word. This beer is still a classic. As Michael Jackson said íThe cognac of beersí.

Golden clear with big head. Caramel, muscy aroma. Malt, alcohol, candy. Malty hoppines in the aftertaste. Ok beer

Moebbels (677) - FINLAND - DEC 27, 2013
Clear dark amber body with a quickly disappearing head. Nose has some raisin, floral malt and caramel notes. Taste is bittesweet with a raisiny and fruity flavor and a softly bitter finish. Carbonation is soft but rich with lots of bubbles. Palate is rich and creamy. The alcohol is extremely well hidden, this does not even warm you up like other BW:s. Well made but a little one-dimensional.

Bottle. A copper color beer with a small white head. Aroma is sweety, malty and alcohol. Taste is also sweety and malty, notes of caramel, sugarand dry fruits. Dry and bitter end. A little bit too alcoholic of the style

Bottle. Alcohol aroma is apparent from the pour, which is red brown with a rapidly diminishing head. Taste is malty with some orange, a slight bitterness and a finishing alcohol burn.
