Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Bottle. Pours with a small white foamy head, that quickly dissapates, over a clear dark amber/ copper body. Aroma/taste of muscat/port, toast, golden syrup/brown sugar. Full bodied.

Amber colored with brown hues. A very small white head that dissipates quickly and leaves minimal lacings. Plenty of malts in the nose, sweet chocolate and very light hop aromas. Dried fruits, raisins and quite prominent alcohol, almost solvent-like. The taste is predominantly sweet. Bold juicy malt character with plenty of caramel notes. Some fruits and raisins. Brown sugar and sweet chocolate. Nutty flavors (almonds), hints of oak. Gentle floral hops and faint spices. The finish is surprisingly short, minimally bitter and is dominated by warming alcohol. Full bodied, very smooth. Low levels of carbonation. The mouthfeel is actually the highlight of the beer. A good beer, but nothing spectacular. It’s slightly too focused on sweet flavors. The alcohol isn’t really that overly prominent, but still it doesn’t feel totally integrated with the other flavors. I liked it, but I think there are better strong ales out there. Aroma doce e alcoólico de lúpulo. No sabor, doce e lupulado, o álcool sobressai um pouco mais do que deveria, desestabilizando levemente o conjunto. Final longo e levemente amargo, alcoólico, doce e tostado.

Bottle: rich sweet malt, fruity, caramel, some vanilla notes, toasted wood, faint nutty notes, faint coffee notes, faint cocca notes, nice orangy cirtic hoppiness which balances the malt, light alcoholic bite, rich and satisfying beer.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2015 Clear crimson, strong white head. Caramel, dried fruit and light roastiness on the nose. Full-bodied, balanced bitterness and delightful sweetnesa. Finishes bittersweet and warming finish. Nice, what!

Pours red-amber with a quick light brown head. Nose is quite sweet and dominated by brown sugar and apples. Flavor is a bit more tame and a little on the generic side for English ales, but is quite drinkable. Alcohol does not factor. Decent stuff.

Appearance: mahogany red colour. Medium head, beige colour and persistent. Aroma: caramels malts. Yeasty with reminiscences of sponge cake; toffee, sugar, “alfajor”, vanilla and wood touches. Sweet-fruitiness of plums and figs. Liquory like cognac and whisky. Flavor: sweet caramel malts; similar touch at aroma, candy, toffee, butterscotch, truffle and vanilla. Some spicy notes, such as cinnamon and clove. Reminiscences of ripe fruits in syrup like plums, figs and blackberries. Warming and liquory, like whisky. Finish with slight oxidize and mineralized touches. Light hoppy, slight dry from toasty malts. Palate: medium body and semi-viscous. Light to medium carbonated. Exquisites liquory, candy and toasty notes. Good balance. Very advisable.
