3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
amazingly rich treacle, toffee and malt in the nose, Poured a slightly hazy coppery red, palate is dominated by flavour hops, which detracted form the thick sweetness a little, dare I say I would have preferred this if it had a little less hops..

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale tawny in colour with a faint aroma of mainly alcohol but a little malt in there too. Quite sweet and malty but surprisingly gentle in flavour with just enough bitterness in the finish to keep it from being bland. Not the best strong ale Iíve ever tried but still very pleasant on a cold winterís evening.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 50cl. Pours with a light, clear reddish, amber color, large airy and bobble head which falls to a decent thin, but stable one-finger off-white head. Aroma is quite modest malty, dark fruits (raisin), yeast, and clear alcohol. Sweet, malty and sugar-like flavor, hobs and raisin as it becomes slight bitter in a dry, medium finish. Soft carbonation. Alcohol is well-hidden, bit warming, but not that much.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lovely hoppy aroma, sweetness there too. Strenght of this brew is apparent in the taste but the malt backs the old man alcohol down and the bitter end high fives you like a champ. Almost too easy to drink and woo then you are drunk. But who is complaining, this is good stuff.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
500ml bottle. Served at room temperature. Pours clear red gold and looks great. Head doesnít last long but thatís ok. Smells awesome. Aroma is of something similar to sherry. Sweet and warm (spices), alcoholic, fruity and malty. Initial taste is smooth, well balanced, alcoholic, warming spices, sweet, fruity. Malty taste comes through with butterscotch or some kind of creamy caramel desert. I would pick this as a desert beer or it could easily compliment a dish which required a bit of smooth fruity sweetness. Good work. Drank this on a cold summerís windy evening in Wellington. Almost 9pm and the sun is still out.
