COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Rich and chewy, this has the rich consistency I would expect from a beer of this strength. The aroma is fruity and the flavour predominantly malty at first. It is very sweet fruity, with dried fruit, rind, and perhaps a hint of apple. The finish ushers in warmth and bitterness with a suggestion of citrus.

Very clear red amber with little bubbles. A nice foamy yellowish head. Hoppy aroma with a little caramel. Very full mouthfeel. A little vinious. A burnt feeling with some toffee. A little plums as well. Warming and pleasant.

Very nice brew. Pours a thick dark amber colour, dense head wich doesnt faint very quickly. This Ale is one of a kind, there is alot going on there that reminds me of a strong belgian ale style, this is a cleaner and more refined brew, wich leaves it more predictable and the consistancy is there aswell, I have bought about 12-14 bottles a years time and its always the same. Do not hesitate to invest in this brew.

Deep amber/red color, with a nice medium head. Smell is caramel malts, liquor, ripe fruits. Taste shows even better the caramel malts, maybe nuts, sweet but well balanced. Oily texture, low carbonation. Some alcohol warmth in the end, but very drinkable. Great beer!

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2008 Perfect beer for a wintery Wellington afternoon in front of the fire. Pours amber with a soft white head, sweet malty bready nose with a orangey malt flavours. Malt driven but with a bitterness that stops it being cloying.

Finom. Milyen lehet frissen csapról? Hmmm...
