COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

50cl bottle, as shown. Pours a beautiful mahogany with a medium-sized, creamy off-white head with decent retention and plenty of lacing. Aroma is of dried fruit: raisins, some orange peel, plus caramel. Medium carbonation and a thick, creamy and oily mouth feel that, at 8.5 % abv, should surprise no one. A full-bodied strong ale, as I’ve come to expect from Fuller’s. Taste is of sweet roasted malt, toffee, stewed dark berries, with a lot of herbal spices adding to the complexity of this brew - again with a freshening note of orange peel. Malty, full, medium dry finish and gripping, slightly boozy after taste. Very similar to the much more expensive "Vintage Ale", which seems logical if that beer is indeed based on Golden Pride (same abv, to begin with). Unlike the "Vintage" variety, it’s pasteurized. As with all the strong ales and premium esbs from Fuller’s, this one is beautifully balanced, with the strong alcohol well integrated into the intricate fabric of aromas. Sweetness and malty bitterness complement each other brilliantly, If you’re searching for the perfect "fireside brew", look no further.

This one had a lot of shit going on, another one that just didn’t make sense to my tongue. Skip this.

Pours a medium brown/caramel colour with some head. Aroma is sweet and hints of caramel. Body is sweeter but well balanced. Aftertaste is hoppy, floral and somewhat dry but the taste lingers for a while. In general a very drinkable strong ale.

When it’s poured in glass a dark orange beer with a stable and persistent creamy foam head is seen. The aroma has some floral and citric notes being prevalent some orange and coffee notes. When is tasted a full body thick can be felt with a bitter end.

50 cl bottle. An amber beer with light orange head. The aroma is malty sweet with notes of fruit, wood, and spices. The flavor is sweet and strong coming from a great maltblend. Follows aromas well and is great brew in every aspect.

500ml Bottle. Red/Brown, small white head. Malty, sweet aroma. Perhaps plum, raisin. Very tasty, only negative point is that perhaps the alcohol is not disguised as well as it could, so by the end of the bottle it was tasting rather stronger than many other decent strong ales.

A lovely golden colour, with just the right amount of carbonation. To me, this is how beer should look. Smells great too. It didnt taste at all as i expected, as its slight sweetness combines superbly with its depth and strength. You wouldnt drink gallons of it, but its taste is absolutley fantastic.

Sötmandel, kryddor och dadlar. Smakrik, maltig men humlefattig. Så vad vi har här är en välgjord men karaktärslös brygd
