4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2010 500ml bottle bought in Port of Spain, West Bees supermarket. Pours reddish amber with foamy white head and some, not lasting lace. Aroma of malty dried fruits, slight hoppy bitter and candy. Flavour is thick with traces of sweet malts, toffee, and sugar. Alcohol is noticeable but subtle. Nice lingering aftertaste. Most probably, the best beer available in Trinidad.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a ruby, whisky-like colour, with faint lacing. Some plum, red grape, blackcurrent. Dark malts. Thatís all well and good, but itís really too boozy to work for me as a beer. Itís nice as a taster, but I canít imagine drinking a whole bottle of this. Perhaps one to share after dinner (although perhaps youíd want something even heavier!)

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ruby at the top, light amber at the bottom; still, with no head at all; aroma of marmalade / Christmas cake; lots of stewed orangey fruit which was fairly muted at first, but became progressively pronounced and toothsome as the drink went on; reminded me of Bush Ambree in that sense; the alcohol isnít hidden - this is a warming brew; I had this on cask once at The Whale in Buckingham - it was pretty mind blowing in 1996 and is still excellent bottled in 2013.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep rusty copper hue with a creamy off white head. Fruity, toffee nose. Sweetish toffee like taste with fruit and raisins. Very barley wine like, well balanced. A decent ale just a bit sweet for a session.
