COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

500 mL bottle at home into a pint glass. Amber brown beer with a well formed head. Smells of alcohol, red fruit, estery and complex. Interesting stuff. Sharp, a touch sour and bitter, a bit of roast. Tastes not unlike Gordon’s Finest Gold, but perhaps a little more refined. Still, its a bit too acidic for me. Not as good as I thought it would be.

Countbeer (4391) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 2, 2012
Draught: Medium white head which disappears slowly on top of an almost clear amber colored beer. Smell malts, sweat, dust, iron, strange smell but not bad. Taste malts, vanilla, creamy banana, creamy barley malts, light bitter, herbs and a hint of honey. Aftertaste is medium bitter, there’s barleys and wheat and there is some malty herbs all creamy packed Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a thicker creamy light oily texture Decent beer but a bit dull...

Bottle. Pours an auburn mahogany with a small, brownish head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, light resin and floweriness. Taste is toffee, light resin, fruity, some marmalade. Palate is a bit sticky, fairly full. A bit too simple for these alcohol levels.

500ml bottle BB March 2014. Pours a clear amber orange/brown. Initial head dies down after a matter of seconds. Smell is classic ’old ale’, yeasty with some pungent caramel. Body is medium and slightly foamy. Taste has more caramel, spice, raisin. Quite sweet. Slightly drying finish. Not quite to my taste, but it seems a well made beer. A sipper.

Botella 33cl en CerveZeres. Cerveza de estilo inglés de alta graduación. Un poco dulzona, en el aroma y el sabor se pueden apreciar toques de caramelo. Cuerpo muy ligero y espuma poco persistente. Muy muy rica.
