COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Countbeer (4327) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 2, 2012
Draught: Medium white head which disappears slowly on top of an almost clear amber colored beer. Smell malts, sweat, dust, iron, strange smell but not bad. Taste malts, vanilla, creamy banana, creamy barley malts, light bitter, herbs and a hint of honey. Aftertaste is medium bitter, thereís barleys and wheat and there is some malty herbs all creamy packed Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a thicker creamy light oily texture Decent beer but a bit dull...

Deep golden-orange colour, pours with little head. Alcohol and butterscotch aroma and a flavour to match. Overall this beer was not incredibly complex and was fairly uninteresting. There are better strong ales on which to spend your money.

Copper brown with medium to small head. Toffee and alcohol nose. Malty, sweetish flavour with a tad too much alcohol.

A powerful and very malty beer with a warming alcohol taste( i havent worked out wether i like that yet). Deep ruby colour. If you going to drink this sort of barly wine-esk beer, might as well go for vintage, its only the bottle conditioned version of this.

downender (6164) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2008
This was sampled alongside the 2006 and 2007 vintage ales and the effects of pasteurisation were all too apparent. Deep copper coloured with a slight, off-white head. Very sweet aroma of barley sugar and toffee with a hint of grassy hop. The flavour was of boiled sweets with some redeeming hops and a short bitter finish. Ok, but lacking the complexity of the vintage ales.

A 0.5L bottle from Alko shop. Pale head. Reddish coppery colour. Mild malty nose. Strong malty and roasty slightly sour taste. At the end hoppy bitterness.

Bottle 330ml.
Clear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, vintage malt, sugar, prune notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090102]

Dark brown color with thick tan head. Sweet fruity aroma of dried apricots, plums and toffee. Heavy flavor with lots of fruit and toffee sweetness. Thick syrupy mouthfeel. A cognac-like feeling to this reminds me of the Thomas Hardy Ale.
