Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

Beautiful dark amber (almost reddish) with an off wihte head. Sweet aroma of peach, caramel and melon. The alcohol is quit aggresive and warming in a vineous way and there are a lot of malty woody notes, nuts and toffee. The bitterness keeps it from being too much, but nevertheless you should be a couple of guys sharing it.

Aroma gives a rich promise of hops, colour is clear (brown-reddish). Flavor is tight/narrow, with lots of hops, some nuts and citrus. Aftertaste is bitter and has a bit too much alcohol in it.

austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAY 28, 2009
Bottled. Dark amber, firm beige head. Plain sweet toffee aroma, hint of hops, vanilla and warming alcohol. Flavor has sweetish toffee, little berries and banana fruitiness, alcohol shows even more, solid hops in the sugary finish. Medium to full bodied, a bit sticky lush palate. Utterly simple, but still pleasing enough strong ale.

Bottle. Pours a orange copper colour with a slightly off white head. The aroma is all toffee and dark fruit maltiness with some light floral hop notes. The toffee and dark fruit also comes through quite strongly in the taste with some floral hop notes and a bit of warming alcohol, with a dry bitter finish.

Bottle. Clear reddish-copper color with a medium, quickly-diminishing, white head. Nice aroma with biscuity malt, toffee, caramel, fruity notes and some hops. Flavor starts with some sweet chewy maltiness and caramel, and continues with a pleasant, somewhat spicy, hop bitterness and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Pretty good.
