COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: í deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.í Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: íthe Cognac of beersí.

great barleywine. hazy orange color, fluffy head. malt and fruits in the aroma. big malty base with a niuce complexity. strong and warming stuff. Hsad this at Fullers brewery and the guide said that many fullers employees liked to blend the golden pride with the Chiswick bitter. this was a very nice combination indeed.

One big, red, flavourfull mouthfull of beer. Richer than the duke of Westminster, and with a good alcohol kick to remind you this is a strong ale. A cracking beer for the price, highly recommended in winter...

Bottle. BB 01/11/2004. Deep amber colour with a small off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of raisins and dark fruits. Sweet malty warming flavor. Nice bitterness. Hints of dark fruits. Long malty bitter finish. Has aged very well in my cellar.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a semi creamy off-white head. Fruity and light malt aroma, solid pinewood hops too. Initially sweet and quite dense malty with notes of fruit like banana. Smooth mouthfeel and flavour going into a little more bite before the finish. Finish holds a smooth yet complex malt base with fruit, sweetness, liqourice, caramel and mixed with hops to slowly provide a nice dryness. Great!

Bottle. Pours beautiful golden copper with an off white head that leaves lots of lacing. Nose is very mild but you can detect notes of toffee, brown sugar and a hint of whisky. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma with aded malt, butter, honey and a little woodiness. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy and those are excellent words to describe this beer, as well as outstanding, beautiful and delicious.

Heavy brown 500ml bottle into pint glass. Pour is clear copper coloured with a thick collar of cream/yellow-tinged foam that laces nicely. Strong enticing richly treacly and roasted malt aromas with a hint of alcohol. Flavour is rich medium sweet malts with a bittersweet hop finish. Lovely velvety smooth mouthfeel with a medium to full body and low carbonation. ABV very well hidden (danger!). Another winner from this excellent brewery.

Bottle. A - Coppery caramel brown with an average sized foamy white head. Really good retention, especially considering the ABV, that leaves a nice foamy layer of lacing. S - Some caramel smelling malt serves as a springboard for golden fruit (particularly apple, but some pear too) and some floral and tea like hop aromas. A hint of honey in the background along with a hint of breadiness. Alcohol is just barely present. T - Similar to the nose. Strong malt presences creates the base for this beer with a lot of caramel and bready flavors coming out. Interplaying with each other are golden fruit (apple, pear, golden raisin) and floral/tea hops. They wax and wane throughout the sip. Also present in the background is some honey, butterscotch, spiced, and nutty (more sweet than earthy) flavors. M - Medium body with slightly above average carbonation. Pretty smooth. D - Great drinkability. The alcohol is very well hidden and the flavors are well balanced and none of them overpower the others. Easy on the palate and pretty tasty (dangerously so for the ABV). Notes: Best before 01/01/11. A solid beer that is a good example of an English Strong Ale. A touch on the sweet side, but it has enough to counterbalance that. Dangerously easy to drink given the ABV. It didnít necessarily blow me away, but it is definitely worth getting a deserve a place near the top as far as English Strong Ales are concerned.

Pours a red-gold with a fine white head. Vinous and oaky nose with honey, beautifully rich and creamy with more honey and a big alcohol bite. Long warming finish.

Dark amber white head. Smells of wet hay, wild honey caramel and citrus. Tastes of crisp hops and toasted grains, blooming tastes of pale fruit, honeyed malts and lemony citrus. Centering note of alcohol, compliments the structure really well. Feels dry and yet fat, long long tasty citrus and grassy hop flavors.
