COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

Like a more grimey version of a Fullers Vintage ale.Or a Vintage bottle that’s way raw. I read some of the negative press about this, that its beer for juice heads.Granted ,it aint slick but its flavoursome and thats why I pay my entereance money $.Big and malty .Sweet and thick.Apple ester and dusty hop spices.Caramel and I got cherry in the finish.

500ml Bottle - Copper/red in colour. Hoppy and slightly dusty aroma, with dried fruits, sweet malt and grapefruit noticeable. Hoppy and malty taste, with a rich fruity element featuring raisins, grapefruit, spicy malt and caramel. Warming and nicely balanced. The strength is noticeable, but this is still very easy to drink.

50 cl bottle at Skallerup Klit. Clear reddish brown color, fine off-white head. Aroma is hops, sweet malt and dried fruit. Flavor is sweet with fine bitterness, alcohol is in front, but it is not very disturbing.

Aroma gives a rich promise of hops, colour is clear (brown-reddish). Flavor is tight/narrow, with lots of hops, some nuts and citrus. Aftertaste is bitter and has a bit too much alcohol in it.

Quite malty and nutty with hops tastes and bitterness. Very quaffable for such a strong’un.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2009 Bottle. Golden red colour with an off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of nuts, sour cherries, alcohol, and dried fruits. The taste is also very malty with notes of marzipan, nuts, caramel, spices, light grape, and dried fruit. Balanced by a bit of hoppiness. Warming and quite complex.

Very malty, fruity, slightly nutty and citrusy aroma with hint of strawberries. Sweet fruity flavor is slightly nutty and it finishes citrusy-dry and moderately bitter. Medium body and warming palate.

0.5 l bottle. Amber color with small head. The aroma and flavor is sweet, very fruity, slightly vinous and slightly nutty with orange marmelade, apricot and warming alcohol. Soft oily palate. I like most of the Fullers beers but this one lacks in character and is fairly bland for a barley wine.
