COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 500ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn)
Initial rating, 2014-02 (7:4+:7+:4:15=3.7++). Basically black, dark tight tan head. Lovely full roast, gently sweet, a touch chocolatey, maybe a little cakey, in the aroma. Smooth palate, gentle carbonation.Slightly raw mialty roast, sweetish, some tangy nettly hoppiness, and a birnt bitter bite too. Hint of stale coffee. Covers 10.7% very well. Does feel a bit young, I look forward to having one in 6-9 months time. (bought 4 bottles, so can stagger over time)

Gorgeous slightly orangy chocolate aroma, absolutely perfect for an imperial stout. Full and rich in the mouth, but not heavy, raw, or heady. Some heavier fruity esters and of course the chocolaty roast in the retronasals. Great roast dominate the taste, lovely hints of earthy bitterness. Beatifully haunting finish, leaves the chocolatey roasty aspects and the dry bitter aspects tantalising as they float around the mouth like beautiful ghosts. Man, that has aged so damn well. Looking forward to the next one in a yearís time.

Above average but not outstanding. Fullerís always deliver decent and classic ales, this is not an exception. Hard category to compete in though.

(bottle, as Imperial Stout Lim. Ed. at 10.7% abv) Black coloured hue with a brown medium-sized foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, mocha, liquorice and vanilla, accompanied by a subtle flowery and fruity touch. Moderately roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, quite full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Initially dry-ish roasty malt-character with liquorice, dark chocolate and mocha; traces of molasses are detectable towards the lasting roasty and chocolatey finish with a little bit of booze shining through. Very pleasant, even more-ish for such a heavy thing. 06.I.14

Bottle from the Fullers brewery beer shop. Opaque very dark brown to black in the glass, medium tan head which dissipates to thin/no head. Nose is sweet, yeasty Marmite (yeast extract), candy sugar, fruity, prune, raisin, dark chocolate, rye bread. Taste is big, yeast forward, yeast extract, Marmite, salty, fruity, prune, stewed plum, tangy, alcoholic, dark chocolate although right now itís hidden by the yeastiness and saltiness. More yeasty and savoury than I expected. Very good with hard cheese, although I tried it with gouda, which was too buttery. Vintage cheddar would be better.

Bottle@Maltainen Riekko. Black color, tan head. Full, roasted malt aroma with coffee. Smooth, well-rounded flavor with juicy malts, licorice, oak and a hint of smoke. Long, slightly bitter finish. Very full body, medium-low carbonation. A very nicely crafted beer!
