COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

50 cl. Superbe stout. Professionnellement exécuté. Très ou trop facile à boire.

Bottle from the Fuller’s Brewery website. This is an inky black beer that pours with a quickly disappearing thin tan head. It has an extremely powerful dark chocolate flavour, roasted coffee, hints of red fruit, vanilla, floral notes and a very rich chocolate and bitter oak finish. Superb!

500ml bottle. Pours almost totally black, with a brown head. Compact, rich, complex aroma, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, coffee, caramel, ash, toffee, earth, faint smoke. Semi-sweet, full bodied, mid bitterness, creamy, soft carbonation. Complex, rich, balanced taste, roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, ash, hops, tar, soy, earth. Wonderfully balanced and smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask @Helsinki olut expo 2014. Black, no head. Roasty malts, sweet and chocolate aftertaste. 15cl is enough, considering it’s strength.

Thanks to Reimer for this. Pours inky, velvet black with a thin beige ring. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and bitter chocolate. Taste is again velvet smooth, coffee and bitter chocolate. Nice hop finish. Awesome beer but should I expect anything less.

I found the aroma a bit lacking. But the taste was very nice, cocoa roasted, something else. Everything quite balanced. Not as flamboyant as the my favourite imperial stouts but very balanced and easy to drink imperial stout.

Draught at Queen’s Head, Chesham. Looks like old engine oil with a thin head that rapidly disappears leaving you with 10,000 mile Duckham’s 20/50. You could go through the brewer’s lexicon ticking off flavours but they’re all in there someplace with roast, licorice and neat alcohol predominant. Such beers are essentially a novelty and I won’t get carried away with superlatives and a 4 point something scorecard. I did enjoy it but it’s really a once-in-a-blue moon thing; if it was the only beer available I’d rapidly get very sick of it - probably literally.

Otroligt god doft. Så ska en Stout dofta. Smaken är en fin balans mellan sötma och brända toner. Lagrad i 3 år. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
