Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Marstonlad (422) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 28, 2014
Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours black with a big brownish white head. The aroma is rich in dark, roasty maltiness: plenty of chocolate, coffee, salty licorice, tar and touch of dark, plummy fruitiness. Taste is initially light sweet, later heavily roasty and dryish. Taste is quite long and nuanced; chocolate and licorice are accompanied by delicate dark fruity notes. Bitterness rises toward finish. The palate is full bodied, a bit sticky and fairly soft in carbonation. Delicious strong, rich ale for late night tasting sessions.

Philym (999) - St Neots, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JUL 25, 2014
Appearance: Dark brown/black with cm thick tan head. Aroma: Floral, citrus, molasses, umami, fruity, liquorice, treacle, malty. Taste: Low sweetness and sourness with medium bitterness. Palate: Medium thick fairly smooth texture, medium body, average carbonation, dry, lingering slightly bitter, brown sugar, fruity, metallic, treacly, malty finish. Dare I say it there is a subtle note of Turkish delight. Comments: Good and glass lace.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of roast, liquorice, dark chocolate. Taste is more of the same. Not getting any rose character. Overall - this is a style I like, by a brewer I like. It just doesn’t set the world on fire. If I had to introduce someone to this style this wouldn’t be the beer I would choose.

A classic imperial stout, and it is really rare in China. Had it at Kaiba Tap Room in Shanghai.

500ml bottle. Where does the "Russian" come from? Pours almost totally black, with a brown head. Compact, rich, complex aroma, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, coffee, caramel, ash, toffee, earth, faint smoke. Semi-sweet, full bodied, mid bitterness, creamy CO2. Complex, rich, balanced taste, roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, ash, hops, tar, soy, earth. Wonderfully balanced and smooth, this beer will last for years to come. Well Done, Mr Keeling! (2014-06-28) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Handpull at The Grove - Huddersfield. One of the Fuller’s that I have been wanting to taste and blimey. Oily. Dark. Mysterious. Aroma of dark jammy fruits and danger. Subtle hint of winter bothy on the Cairngorm. I can see thi beer giving warmth and light in a cold dark place. Drobovyeh.
