cask and bottled, special
Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Above average but not outstanding. Fullerís always deliver decent and classic ales, this is not an exception. Hard category to compete in though.

Dark opaque brown, small to medium tan head, some spotty lacing. Nose is roasted malt, vanilla, dry and slightly sweet notes, cocoa, coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, fruity hints, licorice, dark chocolate and coffee tones. Ashy, roasted, dry and bitter finish with hops and some alcohol warmth. Full body, creamy carbonation, oily, but light, mouthfeel. Surprisingly easily drinkable. Very nice.

(bottle, as Imperial Stout Lim. Ed. at 10.7% abv) Black coloured hue with a brown medium-sized foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, mocha, liquorice and vanilla, accompanied by a subtle flowery and fruity touch. Moderately roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, quite full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Initially dry-ish roasty malt-character with liquorice, dark chocolate and mocha; traces of molasses are detectable towards the lasting roasty and chocolatey finish with a little bit of booze shining through. Very pleasant, even more-ish for such a heavy thing. 06.I.14

Bottle from the Fullers brewery beer shop. Opaque very dark brown to black in the glass, medium tan head which dissipates to thin/no head. Nose is sweet, yeasty Marmite (yeast extract), candy sugar, fruity, prune, raisin, dark chocolate, rye bread. Taste is big, yeast forward, yeast extract, Marmite, salty, fruity, prune, stewed plum, tangy, alcoholic, dark chocolate although right now itís hidden by the yeastiness and saltiness. More yeasty and savoury than I expected. Very good with hard cheese, although I tried it with gouda, which was too buttery. Vintage cheddar would be better.

Bottle@Maltainen Riekko. Black color, tan head. Full, roasted malt aroma with coffee. Smooth, well-rounded flavor with juicy malts, licorice, oak and a hint of smoke. Long, slightly bitter finish. Very full body, medium-low carbonation. A very nicely crafted beer!

#400 Dark brown silky pour with a tan head. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, dark fruits, peat, leather, biscuit, bread. Medium bodied. I expected a bit more "chewing", however it was very enjoyable and at 10.7% abv it packs a bit of a punch. I love Imp Stouts and Fullerís Imperial Stout did not disappoint. Great Packaging too.

Aroma of dried fruits, coffee, chocolate, some sweetness, pretty intense. A bit on the BTH side, but not so intense. super cool brew, but not one of the best, close though.

Dark black. Big brown head. Coffee, roasted grain, licorice. Slightly oily palate. Pleasantly complex. Great beer.
