COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Aroma: Smelling of dark read, dates, chocolate, coffee and vanilla.
Appearance: A dark red colored beer. A brown head with some lacing and some curtains.
Taste: Tasting of dark bread, dates, chocolate, coffee and smoked meat.
Palate: Medium carbonation, a watery texture. A big body with a slightly dry finish.
Overall: Very solid stout, with a porter vibe. Which is not bad.
Note: Bottle 500 ml at home. Reviewed 2014-01-15.

A good imperial stout of the British style with a mild fruit note that complements dark chocolate roasted flavours. The pour is entirely black and opaque with the thinnest tan head. Beautiful mouthfeel and palate overall is excellent.

Dark black in the glass, intense dark roasted-malty nose. The beer itself starts intense. Viscous, lots of roasted malt, very intense. In the mainpart is there a little bit of stout-typical sourness, which makes this beer at 10.7% and its high viscosity quite highly drinkable. Very dry in the end, Espresso, dark chocolate (which also has this slightly sourness, if over 90% cocoa), roasted dark bread. The aftertaste is long, intense. Only slightly bitter. Absolutely smooth, only a little bit warming, but the 10.7% are hard to taste - nearly no alcohol visible.
--> An absolute great brew! I donít know what to make better here! --> 15/13/15/15

Bottle shared with my useless ass and the couch on which I rot. Poured out an oily goop that is an ultra dark brown, small semi fizzy head and thin lacing. Oh shit! I want some of that new awesome Coors light beer with the puncture can! Man - that clean pour will kick the shit out of my taste buds! But... Back to something no where near as good. Sneaking a taste loosely reminds me of Tokyo if it was not such a beast. Underwhelming aroma - had to finally cover the glass to see if I can do anything to bump this up. Sweetness, roast, slight perfume - struggling hard to locate smelly things that should stank more. The taste is there and I canít stop thinking about Tokyo. I read about the roses and may have not considered it without that knowledge but itís there. Alcohol is prevalent, oily mouth, weak almond, thoughts of licorice, hints of salt, back to the aroma - bottom third dumped in and lo and behold there is aroma. A bit fruity and a touch of chocolate - wtf - the pour had a big area going for it and by time started to type and voila! the aroma was gone. Back to the taste since itís very obvious itís the only thing worthy of paying attention to: dem nuts, cherry, thickness on the final sips (finally - why did it take so fucking long? This was not far from room temp) blend of choco and all the other things I blurted out before. This is a solid brew and pretty much what I expected which is ok with me. Feeling like I need to cut my toenails. Ha! Marks add up to 3.... Itís better than that yet, very drinkable but damn - not much I can do to bump it up. Another .1 for drinkability. Mellowness is enjoyable but so damn late. Started loving this at ml 483. Bad numbers but good drinking. Pisser. Needs time to remove the early heat.

Bottle, shared with Ian. Near black, hearty pour with a thick lasting lighter brown head. Aroma features cocoa, creamed coffee, and delicate floral undertones. On the palate, all the rich roast flavours are here, particularly bitter chocolate, along with vinous stewed fruits, dark cherries, and a lovely delicate floral note. A fantastic imperial stout for the unexpected delicate florals married to the expected hearty roasted malts. Full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel.
