Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

Dark black in the glass, intense dark roasted-malty nose. The beer itself starts intense. Viscous, lots of roasted malt, very intense. In the mainpart is there a little bit of stout-typical sourness, which makes this beer at 10.7% and its high viscosity quite highly drinkable. Very dry in the end, Espresso, dark chocolate (which also has this slightly sourness, if over 90% cocoa), roasted dark bread. The aftertaste is long, intense. Only slightly bitter. Absolutely smooth, only a little bit warming, but the 10.7% are hard to taste - nearly no alcohol visible.
--> An absolute great brew! I don’t know what to make better here! --> 15/13/15/15

Cask at old joint stock, brum
3.85 a half but fully worth it. Pours unctuous oily black with brown highlights and charcoal lacing. Fairly timid nose, some coffee and chocolate. Rich, full bodied, warming but drinks well below its strength. Molasses, tobacco, coffee, smooth with long finish. I’m definitely buying a bottle!

Exquisita!

Hand-pulled half-pint into a bulbous ’Fullers’ glass in The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham on 30th Oct 2013. A thin wisp and collar sat on top of a dark, heavy looking body. The nose confirmed this was going to be a heavy, rich brew. Port like esters hit my nose, slightly over roasted malts also appeared in the aroma: this has a great smell. The taste was a mixture of sweet malty molasses that gave hints of chocolate, dark fruits, old red wine, Port and root liquorice sticks (remember those?). The body was rich and heavy: did I already mention that? Very sweet, very unhealthy, very alcoholic, very nice.

Bottle. Sweet and boozy. Full bodied. Smooth. Notes of toffee, chocolate, dark fruits and burned sugar. A bit vinous. Superbly balanced. Powerful, yet enormously drinkable. Me like!

Tror denne ville gått rett hjem hos Vladimir P.
