Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

As refined a beer as you will find - from the tasteful packaging through the austere nose and round palate. Hides the alcohol well. Perhaps not brimming with flavour, but I look forward to seeing what age does to this. The rose makes an appearance about half way through the chilled bottle and gives a subtle and exotic touch to the brew. Fullers are amazing.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours black with a thick creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, soy, vanilla, coffee, light metallic. Taste has a salty soy note all the way with bitter chocolate up front and licorice and bitter roasted notes in the finish. Medium body and average carbonation.

500 ml bottle in cardboard box, as Fullerís Bottle Conditioned Imperial Stout Limited Edition. ABV is 10.7%. From the Fullerís Brewery store, also available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Lovely aroma, roasty and floral notes, hints of coffee, chocolate, leather and rosebuds. Distinctly roasty flavour, notes of strong coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, floral notes in the background. Decent hops (Centennial).

Look: Pours with thick, creamy, average sized mocha head. Has good retention; creamy, thick layer stays on top. Leaves fair amount of lacing. Clear, very dark brown (light amber hue), some carbonation noticed. Fair.

Smell: Some fresh dark fruity esters, bitter chocolate and light coffee. Booze - makes it a bit metallic. Earthy, herbal undertone that goes into a weird soy sauce-like salty character. Bit of sourness. Roast sweetness gets bigger and more pleasant as it warms up.

Taste: Medium burnt caramel and molasses sweetness that goes into chocolate, coffee and bitter booze notes. Still some esters play in the background. Ends with pleasant medium roasted coffee bitterness with some tingling booziness.

Mouthfeel: Full creamy body with the right amount of smooth carbonation. Soft but ends a bit spicy because of the alcohol sticking out.

Overall: As a fellow reviewer said: "still a bit young and hot". The booze will probably tune down in time and make this good beer a great one.

Svart med et tynt brunt skumlag. Lukter kaffe og alkohol, svisker, sjokolade og litt fruktig. Kremaktig munnfÝlelse, kraftig og god. Lite bitterhet, men lang og god ettersmak av kaffe.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out unmistakeable English malt, some black licorice, and subtle dark dried fruits. Flavour is intensely fruity, with loads of dark dried fruits - think dates, figs, plum, and raisins - along with some licorice, English malt and roast. The flavours are fairly harsh and not really that complementary, but itís certainly a unique flavour profile here. Drinkable, but a bit harsh and not very elegant. Decent English impie stout.

Svart farge med beige skum. Skummet forsvinner raskt. Aroma av alkohol, svisker, sjokolade og kaffe. Har god fylde og man kjenner kaffe godt i ettersmak og er gsŚ medium bitter.

Thanks Hoser. I should get out more. Dark malt, fruity notes, molasses, sugary edges. Some booze but not boozy. Enjoyable sipper but it wants to be consumed faster so pace yourself. Some earthy herbs in the finish.

Bottle from Carlisle Celebrations. Black brownish pour. Moderate roasted malts on the nose along with some chocolate and liquorice. Taste is a moderation combination of sweet bitter chocolate and roasted coffee. Not a mind blower.
