Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

500 ml bottle. Black, with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits, chocolate, notes of coffee. The flavour is roasted malty, with chocolate sweetness, dark fruits, and a finish with coffee and liquorice notes. Very tasty.

0,5 l bottle Black body, medium sized creamy head Aroma: Molases, roasted malts, cherries and a hint of alcohol. Taste: Starts out with Dark fruits and Molases, followed by a chocolate, cofee and roasted malt bitterness however the inish is slightly less bitter with some cherry tones there to lighten it up. The aftertaste is coffee and Turkish delight. Palate: very thick rich and creamy. Really nice The only thing that is totally off is that it says limited edition ! :-)

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2014 great cocoa aroma with sweet fruit. Looks the part with massive black-brown body and small pale brown head. I did not expect to taste florals but this makes me think of the time I cooked oatmeal with cacao nibs, plus if some turkish delight fell into it we’d have this. I’m sensitive to the florid rose petal dammit. UGH. Elsewhere is chocolate and coffee, sweet dark fruit, herbal hops and some rooty licorice, overall not liking it SO much but let’s see it warm up a little. In any case a doozie from Fuller’s with a well-posed palate and balance despite the rose. 9 5 7 3 9 = 3.3** UPDATE NOTE Having this corked in the fridge a day or two really brought the room together, hey? More like a regular impy stout, in a very good way. I would give this some bottle time.

Bottle from the lcbo. Pours a typical jet black, with a big fluffy beige head. Very roasty nose, with alot of ripe fruit. Touches of soy, and coffee, with some alcohol. Silky mouth feel, with a soft carb. The finish is quite fruity, lends a solid sweetness to counter the medium bitterness. Loads of roast, and soy in the end, with a little alcohol warming.

Bottle. Pours nearly beacon with a thin, tan head. Aroma has nice notes of roasted malts, dark chocolate, espresso, and dark fruits. Taste starts out with dark fruits and roasty espresso, then moves to dark chocolate, and ends with a coffee bitterness. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Clean in the mouth with mild alcohol warmth. Overall a well-made imperial stout. Lots of roast, coffee, and dark fruits. Now to age one.

Very nice rich aroma, tons of chocolate, soy sauce, coffee and dark malts. Completely black with a creamy brown head. Tastes nice but not overly complex, upfront notes of chocolate and dark malt, finishes sweet, smoky with leafy hops in the finish. Kind of too light bodied for the style for my taste, average carbonation.

500 mL bottle. Pitch black, but not as much head as some Impys. Lotsa hops and molasses in the nose; smells very American. The taste is much the same. The hops are utilized perfectly, beautifully balancing the roasty malt. There is well done toast and coffee in there as well. Excellent!

A thin wisp and collar sat on top of a dark, heavy looking body. The nose confirmed this was going to be a heavy, rich brew. Port like esters hit my nose, slightly over roasted malts also appeared in the aroma: this has a great smell. The taste was a mixture of sweet malty molasses that gave hints of chocolate, dark fruits, old red wine, Port and root liquorice sticks (remember those?).

Fat på Bishop Gustav. Smak och doft av mörk choklad, kaffe, rostad malt, jord, laktris med toner av russin och körsbär. Rund och len, lagom sötma, välbalanserad och mycket smakrik. Riktigt gott!
