Creedence (282) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 21, 2013
500ml bottle enjoyed after work. Pours a very slightly hazy amber gold with an initially fluffy 2 finger white head that dissipates quickly to a patchy film and minimal lacing. Aroma is bizarre, slightly grassy, with a lot of celery, a hint of coriander and a tiny touch of strawberry. Taste is an initial light sweetness followed by a medium spicy bitterness. Finish is astringent slightly yeasty bitterness, lively carbonation, medium mouthfeel and not much of an aftertaste, but light spicy bitterness. A strange brew, weird mix of flavours. Not the best.

RW80 (600) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 7, 2014
500 ml bottle (shared) Appearance: amber coloured brew with a decent head( 1,5 finger), but with not that good retention, leaving not much lacing. Aroma: Very faint, some grass, some peaches, biscuit and dough, but itís so faint. Taste: Moderately sweet with hints of caramel, malt, grapefruit, grass and dough, The dry finish is mainly light grass and citrus fruit and still quite some sweet malts. Nice medium body, with just the right amount of carbonation.

Davros (1939) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2014
Pours orange/amber with a large lasting creamy head. Nose shows floral, fruity and grassy hops at first, lots of orange marmalade in there. Also some spicy notes alongside loads of caramel and bready malt. Similar malt profile in the way of flavours, sumptuously malty. Thereís subtle spicy and resinous hops in there too along with a bold bitterness that bravely tries to curb the sweetness. Carbonation is a little full-on.

UXO (206) - CANADA - AUG 27, 2014
Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with a short-lived short head diminishing quickly to a thin skim and light lacing. Nose is herbal and pine hops with some citrus and caramel malt. Taste follows suit with simultaneous floral hops and sweet caramel, slight pineapple, with a bitter finish. Medium body and low sustained carbonation, with a slightly oily mouth feel and off-dry finish. Definitely a traditional English IPA - hops are present, but very much bolstered by caramel malt. Smells a little bit better than it tastes, particularly as it warms. A decent performer, but nothing all that memorable. Definitely a sister beer to the ESB, yet somewhat to my surprise (given my personal preferences) the greater hop presence doesnít do a lot to recommend it over the ESB.
