Bottled, Pasteurised, 500ml;
Dark amber with short head. Depleted version of the cask, a little dull on the tongue despite the CO2, malted sweet but largely unexiting, and I still don’t get the Blackberries.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2004 Bottle. NOt really warming or rich with flavour as i would normally think a winter ale to be. Slight blackberry in the aroma, also some butterscotch and caramel and nuts. Palate was smooth and sweet, withi minimal bitterness, slight touch of berry fruit, also got some slightly figgy fruit. Nutty aswell, a but simple. Also had it cask@The Prince of wales, Richmond, London, and thought much the same.

High quality English bitter with a bonus: dark reddish/blueish colour and unusual level of blackberry freshness. Not for winter months but great.

Dark caramel looking ale with a musty fruit aroma, probably the blackberries. The flavour is dull blackberries with a dry finish. Overall the fruit flavour does not improve on a traditional bitter flavour.

Dark amber, medium head. Sweet, berries-like, a bit fruity nose. Medium body. Flavor is berries-like, sweet and a bit artificial. Dry finish. Decent brew, but too sweet and a bit artificial thanks to berries.

Bottled: Light amber. Little fluffy off white head. Medium lasting. Fruits and malts in the nose. Malty in the flavour, and it has a strange fruity taste to it, that I don't like. Could be the blackberries. Is bitter in the end, but dies quickly on the palate.

Something like a normal british ale, malt and bitter. The blackberries is hard to find. If I didn't knew it, I would not have tasted it.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2009 (Draught) Had this again by accident ;-P. Clear copper with a small head. Aroma of fruit and diacetyl. Diacetyl also in the nose with woody hops and darkish fruitiness. Medium body, quite full for the ABV, soft-carbonated. Not much happening here. (Bottled, was 5-4-5-3-10=2.7) Nice darkish amber color, medium, white head. Pretty bottle. Malty, fruity, mild aroma. Malty, smooth, sweetish, a bit articifial flavor - maybe too many berries for such a thin body. Long, sour aftertaste with - again - berries. One of the many beers I’ll only drink once.

Bottled> Big foamy head, amber colored, Fruity berry nose. Toffee nose. Dry finish, nice fruity taste, but not as winterkind as expected.
