Bottled, Pasteurised, 500ml;
Dark amber with short head. Depleted version of the cask, a little dull on the tongue despite the CO2, malted sweet but largely unexiting, and I still donít get the Blackberries.

Bottle from Sainsbury. Reddish brown colour with lasting off white head. Blackberry jam and toast aroma. Again in mouth with same flavours. Finish has a dryness to it of burnt toast. Malt is a little juicy. Not sure it totally works. I like the finish with residual fruit syrup

Aroma is malty, with some light straw notes and i can tell the blackberries are trying to get through, however they dont. Taste is clean and again the blackberries seem to come though, malty a malty body however could do with a little more dryness to make it better. Easily drinkable.

Looks like a glass of Vimto with a creamy head, the aroma is nice and malty but i just didnít get any blackberry in the taste (if it was it was faint)

Marstonlad (422) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 10, 2013
Pours clear reddish copper with a mediocre white head. Aroma of sweet, syrupy maltiness with berries, fruits and butter - seems slightly too sweet for me. Taste is also sweet, malty and fruity. Notes of caramel, dried fruits, some raisin. Should be bitter but isnít really, hoppiness is pretty mild. Palate is medium bodied, nicely full given the strength, smooth and sticky. Looks and feels OK but doesnít really have much depth.

A: Ale amber, transparent, small head. S: Strong raw malt. T: Trace malts, goes into bitterness, some dark fruit tanginess, long fruity and hopsy finish. M: Medium. O: Decent ale, bit on malty smell. Some decent taste overtones.
