3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: The smell is nutty and fruity, rather modest.
Appearance: The beer is dark amber, brownish with ruby hints, an off-white small head, little lacing.
Taste: Tasting initially of dark bread with jam on red berries, pears, ripe apples and some lemon zest.
Palate: Medium carbonation, soft bubbles and fluid, refreshing and very little dry.
Overall: A nice soothing real ale, relaxing fruit flavor (from the blackberries).

Cask at the Bishop on the Bridge, Winchester. Copper in colour with a thin cream head; orchard fruit aroma; sweet fruity malt flavour with a rather earthy base; and a dry but sticky finish. OK, but no real evidence of blackberries in the brew.
