Half pint shared with Finn, cask by handpump at NWAF ’13. Bright amber coloured body, fragile lacing to the glassware. Resinous hops to the nose. Juicy malt taste character supported by caramel and bitter berries towards the ending. Nice winter session ale (Manchester, 23.01.2013).

Slightly sweet, malty beer with hints of autumn fruits and oddly, mint. Not a huge aroma and otherwise fairly standard but still quite drinkable despite the sweetness.

Cask at the White Hart, Hilingdon. Clear, ruby red. Blackcurrant strong in the nose. Light body for a winter beer. A bit too sweet for me, but not a sticky finish.

Cask @ Queens head. A darker session beer perfect for the winter months. Notes of marzipan, figs and herbal hops.

Cask at Queens head. Pours amber without a head. Very smooth and nice bitter with a taste of camel malts and red berries.

Fat på Bishop Gustav. Smak och doft av malt, karamell, röda bär med toner av äpple. Lätt kropp, lagom beskam, liten kolsyra, beska med smak och granskott och tall.

Rose & Crown in Ealing A lot of flavour - a perfect beer after a long walk around a West London park. This is helping me get over the pale ales i have got use to over the mild Autumn and Winter. Didn’t eat myself but some folk had this with Sunday lunch. I think it would have been great with a Xmas cheese board. This will get some welly in the plethora of Fullers pubs around my manor in the coming months.

A deep copper colour with a quickly-fading white head. Malty aroma and a big, full taste which is quite nutty (hazelnuts, chestnuts) and with a good hint of blackberries. The hops have a refreshing, rather floral, flavour. A really nice, fruity bitter. Highly drinkable. Another great beer from Fuller’s.

Cask at the Jack Horner, Bloomsbury. Dark copper colour, hazy, still, small dense white head, thick lacing. Aroma is musty caramel, maybe some dry gravy granules. Body is medium, a little foamy, no real carbonation. Taste has lots of digestive biscuit, soft astringency, light bitter finish. Decent.

Cask in the Golden Eagle W1. Darker than the standard Fullers beers, a kind if ruddy brown. Typical house yeast character, some sweeter malts, hints of fruit. Not bad.
