Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

(bottle) pours the darkest ruby-brown colour with a dark frothy head and great lacing. aroma of dark toasted malts, strong notes of coffee and light chocolate, with a hint of smoke. flavour is the same, with lots of chocolate and dry toasted notes. medium body with smooth carbonation and a velvety, light roasted-bitter finish.

This is a very drinkable beer. Great with meat, particularly steak. Creamy malty chocolate taste. Not particularly sweet. Dark brown with medium tan head. A good one.

330 mL. Pours a clear deep ruby with a one-finger tan head that settles quickly to nothing. No lacing. Aromas of Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, milk chocolate, raisins, toffee. Taste upfront is mild coffee with chocolate and crystal malt then moves to dark chocolate and creamy caramel with some noticeable balancing hops. Dry finish. Velvety mouthfeel. Really nice all around.

4-pack of tallboys from the corner pizzeria. Nice, though short, head, aroma more coffee than chocolate. Tastes more chocolate than coffee, with a little bitter undercurrent. Maybe some butterscotch hiding way in the back. Definitely better than the dollar-a-pint price tag woud make you think

11.2 oz. bottle. Pored a dark rich black with little head. Sweet malt aroma. Tasted how I remembered it when I was back in England. Nice malty beer with a good mouth feel. Left a nice lacing on the glass.

12oz bottle from BevMo. Pours dark brown color, with small brown/tan head that diminishes, but lasts . Lasting flavor of toffee, chocolate, and coffee. Rich in flavor, great beer.

Bottle. Dark, dark red brown, almost black body. Pale brown small nice head. Quite heavy sweet malty aroma, some chocolate. Also some fresh hops. Light sweet flavour. Chocolate dominates. Very balanced sweetness. Not very heavy. A light bitter, fresh and dry finish. Amazingly easy drinking, to be a sweet porter. (The Blackbird, Earls Court, London, 03.12.08)
