Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

11.2 oz. bottle. Pored a dark rich black with little head. Sweet malt aroma. Tasted how I remembered it when I was back in England. Nice malty beer with a good mouth feel. Left a nice lacing on the glass.

12oz bottle from BevMo. Pours dark brown color, with small brown/tan head that diminishes, but lasts . Lasting flavor of toffee, chocolate, and coffee. Rich in flavor, great beer.

Bottle. Dark, dark red brown, almost black body. Pale brown small nice head. Quite heavy sweet malty aroma, some chocolate. Also some fresh hops. Light sweet flavour. Chocolate dominates. Very balanced sweetness. Not very heavy. A light bitter, fresh and dry finish. Amazingly easy drinking, to be a sweet porter. (The Blackbird, Earls Court, London, 03.12.08)

Bottle: malty, dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, burnt toast, some molasses, some cigar like smoky notes, some date like sweetness, good bitterness, dry finish, medium-full bodied, rich, satisfying beer, i’ve wanted to taste this beer for a long time and i was’nt disappointed.

Bottle. Pours black/brown with ruby red hues and a small, khaki head, dissipating to a filmy, fizzy wisp. Big nose of caramel and chocolate covered raisins. Also some mild roasted coffee. Taste is caramel and dark chocolate with mild fruit notes, a solid bitter and surprisingly dry finish. This, as the bottle says, is rich, dark and complex with a medium-full body and mild carb.

On tap at the Ye Olde Falconers pub in Fort Lauderdale. Poured a dark black color with a foamy tan head. The aroma was chocolate and coffee. The flavor was chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. The chocolate flavor lingers for some time. The body was a little thin, but otherwise this was a very good beer.

Pours a nice dark brown with a tan head that begins two fingers wide and then settles nicely into a thin layer that remains nearly till the end. Small amount of lacing. Aroma has dark chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor also has coffee very upront with chocolate and smokey notes on the finish. Soft carbonation with a nice milkey mouthfeel. A very solid porter. Would buy again.
