nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 2, 2009 Updated: Sep 23, 2009A great porter, sort of like someone who brings your bags up quickly and doesn’t harass you about leaving a lousy tip. Dark brown color with substantial tan head. Strong aroma, coffee and chocolate - chocolate malt is especially noticeable. Smooth and very well-rounded flavor: roasted malt, coffee, smoke and some milk chocolate. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA Jan 30, 2009 ~Pours black with reddish tint and small creamy off white head.
~Woodsy chocolate scent with roasted malts.
~Burnt roasted malt taste, some coffee and chocolate, good strong flavor.
~Medium feel, bitter finish.
~This is a very good strong porter. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 30, 2009 Dark brown color with a nice head. Malty aromas that are very inviting. Taste is a malt balance that has chocolate and roasted characters in it. Overall a very good beer.
HonkeyBra (1279), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jan 30, 2009 Really, really, solid porter. Dark pour. Big, chocolatey nose. Nice, roasty, chcocolatey flavor. Really nice to drink, especially after a long day of law school. seta18 (12), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Jan 30, 2009 Fullers is a great Porter, it is full of flavor and armoa. It is dark with a slight head. Very easy to drink as good as any English Beer I have had. fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Jan 29, 2009 Pours Dark brown with amber highlights, and a 3 finger creamy tan head that lasts and leaves lacing. Aroma is lots of roast, chocolate, a suprising amount of smoke, hearty medium roast coffee, hazelnuts, a little toast and plenty of burnt sugar. Flavor is super smooth, creamy hot cocoa, roasted nuts and lightly roasted malt at first. Then comes the stronger flavors: dark chocolate, roasted nuts, smoked almonds, brown sugar covered squash, a hint of espresso, lots of beautiful roast and a hint of smokey char. Finish is roast, planty hops, a bit of char, bitter hops and a toffee like fade. The flavor profile suggests a beer with a fairly thick body and a higher abv than 5.4%. The fact that Fullers can get this kind of flavor out of a beer that is light enough to be a great session is simply amazing. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jan 26, 2009 33cl bottle, best before 01mar06. Dark black with hints of brown. Creamy, off-white head. Huge cocoa, peat, roast, burnt chocolate, and more cocoa in the nose. Deep roast, big mocha, like coffee ice cream. Like eating the perect coffee bean. The perfect bean covered in high percentage cacoa chocolate. Lighter bodied than the flavor profile, alowing this an eay drinking beer. Every Porter follows this beer.
