Brown color, with a thick cap of brown foam. Hop and roasted malt in the nose, light note of coffee. Much better taste: roasted malt and coffee, cappuccino! Good body strength, and very interesting quality of malt, not too much on the bitter-roasted side. Good balance with a residual sweetness. The hop is completely overwhelmed in the body; it comes up later in the finish. Not complex, but a very good example of dark ale (stout?).

(Bottle 50 cl) Pitch black, close to opaque, with a small, discreet head. Dark, burned flavours with a distinct bitterness that doesnít linger all that long though. 0040302

Pours black as hell, with a huge, creamy tan head. Head dissipates down to a pretty respectable level. Yummy milk chocolate and malt aroma. Flavor is very heavy with coffee with cream, hazelnut, chocolate. Seriously, this is like an iced mocha from the coffee shop. Bitterness tastes like coffee bitterness. Finishes with cream and hazelnut, and some coffee bitterness. Mouth feel is good, but thiner than most porters Iíve had recently. Very good. Seriously, this is like desert.

This beer had a nice brown color to it. It tasted a bit like coffee. This beer had a nice smooth taste to it.

Deep brown with a nice nutty aroma. Very creamy consistency, and smooth mouthfeel. After a recent trip to London, I absolutely love anything Fullerís, especially this Porter. Great for a cold rainy day.

Amazingly rich and creamy, like a mouthfull of chocolate ice cream. Tastes like coffee, chocolate and roasted nuts. While this is very tasty, it doesnít have the complexity I expected. But, the more I drink it, the more impressed I get.

poyrs dark with small shortlived head. Chocolate, roasty & coffee aromas with a thick malty porter character. A very good porter

Nose of soy sauce, dark chocolate/mocha, sweet roastiness. Very minimal head. Almost opaque dark brown. Flavor was less complex than I had expected, a strong coffee flavor with some chocolate and nuts, yet the finish is somewhat watery. A very decent porter but I like Baltika 6 better.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2005 Deep brown with a nice tan head. Smells of dark chocolate and nuts with a little caramel. Flavor is smooth with lots of chocolate and dark malts with little hops. FInish is still smooth with a bite of bitterness.
