Hbuck72 (122), Chickasha, Oklahoma, USA Nov 27, 2008 Good Porter, Beautiful dark color, nice carbonation.
Nice coffee/ toasted malt flavor.
One of the better porters that I have had. dkachur (2316), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 27, 2008 11.2 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a deep chestnut brown color with a medium frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Rich chocolate aroma with some roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate with a bit of a smoky finish. Full bodied. very nice. mullet2007 (198), St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada Nov 20, 2008 Pours a nice deep brown colour like a stout, but much more translucent with ruby highlights, and a thick foamy tan head. Smell is a little bit of milk chocolate, some roasty malts, but not overpowering, and just a hint of hops. Flavour is more of the same. Not as much chocolate, and a lot more hops, both bitterness and flavour, but still with a nice roasty malt backing. The mouthfeel is very creamy, and carbonated spot on, not flat, but not sharp enough to actively notice it. Nice beer. AWS9 (221), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Nov 20, 2008 Draft at Pub Italia in Ottawa. Beautiful deep brownish-black appearance, topped by a nice beige head. Aroma and flavour match, an exquisite example of malts and a nutty accent with hints of chocolate and coffee. Excellent. Jsawyer (282), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 3, 2008 On tap. Pours umber with a finger of lacey mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, roast coffee, and mellifluous malt. Toasty chocolate malt, caramel, toffee, subtle dark fruits, roast coffee, and a soft hop presence. Palate was creamy and smooth. Even better as it warmed up. albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Nov 1, 2008 This is a dark brown beer with its appealing bubbly head. It was smooth on the palate with a rich, warming flavour of chocolate and toasty malts. More sweet than bitter, it had a slight smokiness.
