hobbersr (393), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Oct 9, 2008 Pours a very dark red, almost black. Medium tan head with large bubbles. Aroma is of roasted nuts a dark chocolate. Flavor is of dark chocolate and caramel. Flavor grows on you as you go. Fairly bitter finish. Good mouthfeel. Good, not great. greig (169), Hamilton, New Zealand Oct 8, 2008 What an excellent beer. Surpassed as a porter only by the cask version. So raisiny, with a full alcoholic warmth. Can’t believe it’s "only" 5.4. I’d never much cared for porters until this beer, and it’s taken me this long to rate it. jonno (542), Brisbane, Australia Oct 6, 2008 Lovely, smooth moreish beer. Lots of comments about it tasting more alcoholic than it is and I concur. Lots of dark berries and chocolate for such a light ABV beer...go on and enjoy a few brew4fun (167), West Virginia, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pours deep ruby. Tall, fluffy lingering tan head leaves intricate lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt, very malty and somewhat spicy. Flavor is intricate blend of chocolate, caramel and dark malts, some residual sweetness. Palate full body, creamy mouthfeel, fair bitterness with average carbonation. Is this Heaven? plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Poured dark brown with a medium lasting white head. Roasty aroma with some coffee. More chocolate in flavour but mostly roasted malts. Medium bodied. RigorMortis (24), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 4, 2008 Dark pour with slowly forming, long lasting head. Smooth taste of toasted mocha that builds in the mouth, definitely recommended patricks110 (276), Alberta, Canada Sep 30, 2008 A wonderful beer. Had in a 500 Ml bottle. ARoma of roasted nuts, chocalte, malts. Smooth taste and flavourful nuttyness. Dark brown with hint of red or purple throughout. A medium finger tan head. Mouthfeel is complex yet makes the beer iresistable and extermely drinkable. I would suggest that every one trys this even if they don’t like porter Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2008 12oz bottle at The Pressroom, Lancaster, PA...dark dark brown pour, tan head...roasty aroma with chocolate, coffee, malts...flavor is much of the same...smooth mouthfeel...good full bodied Porter.
