Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Nice biege head,big frothy,on a very dark red/brown porter with good carbonation.Aroma,malty,coffee,chocolate,a rich note.Flavour fuggles hops,mild bitter good,chocolate richness,coffee taste,maltiness,then the porter seems to take another angle of bitterness,like some other porters.Starts out well,now it,s very bitter,not good a pity.Finish bitter overdone.

On-tap at Stone. Pours dark brown with a fizzy, offwhite head. Smells slight smokey and dark roasty malty. Tastes the same with some apple flavor in there as well. Medium body, vibrant carbonation.

Poors dark amber in colour, with a decent head. Nice moderately smokey aroma with herbal and floral notes. The taste is smoothe and almost creamy. There is a lot to taste here, but nothing sticks out harshly. As Porters go, the flavour is reasonably mild, but still rich and complex. Various spices and roasted malts are complimented by honey, chocolate and some very modest fruit flavours. The after-taste is pleasant and lasting. This would be a great beer to have along-side a large meal.

I just had the Samuel Smith imperial stout earlier tonight, and I definitely think this is not as good. It’s a very good porter, with classic taste, as well as color and aroma, but it lacks the character thats so well preserved with the Sammy. I would probably drink this again, but I wouldnt buy it. Cheers!

50 cl bottle, bought in Newhaven, shared with Bjørnar and Roger. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt. Flavor is sweet, dark fruit and roasted malt. Dry finish. Nice, but not world class porter.

11.2 bottle. Very pleasant aroma, lots of roasted mocha and coffee beans, not much hop presence though. Decent pour with about a inch of cream colored pillowy head, mostly goes away, very small lacing, 50/50 opaque, dark rust color. Similar flavor profile to the aroma, with slightly larger presence of floral type hops starting in the middle and finishing nicely in the end with an easy rich malt lingering, smooth and maybe just o so slightly too light, but still a great feel. Might just barely be too weighted toward the malt side, but overall this a beer made of very high quality and its hard to complain.

Bottle. Very dark colour with a medium sized tan head. Roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate. Taste is roasted, chocolate and coffee with some smoke. Medium-bodied and smooth mouthfeel. Sweet and chocolaty aftertaste. Delicious, well-balanced brew.

16 oz. can: Pour is clear dark with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, sweet brown sugar, and a little cream. Has a very creamy mouth feel. Low carbonation. Flavors include a full roasted barley, lightly sweet chocolate malt, light cream. Damn fine brew. Full flavored and smooth. Would buy again.
