Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

On tap. Poured black with ruby edges, off white head, fully diminishing. Aromas of chocolate, burnt malt, cinnamon. Flavour is initially sweet, and some hops come through. Finishes quite bitter. Sweeter for a porter but nicely hopped and well blended flavours.

Nice Creamy Porter. Very Dark Pour. Medium Head. Roasty malts. Dark Coffee with heavy cream taste. Very drinkable porter. I think this would go very well with food that is sweet. Would be a good base in a long cook dish or a braise.

Deep dark red body, almost black, with an almost lasting off-white head. Flat coffee taste that is quite drinkable, smokey notes and thin cocoa. What I expect from a porter and it delivered.

Bottle. Very distinctive aroma. Head is almost noexistent. Starts with a strong hint of coffee. Definitely get the roasty malts at the finish. Would like to try from the tap.

500ml can. This pours dark red, close to black, with a small, dark head, aroma of coffee, fruit, maybe a hint of chocolate. It’s unfortunate that bottles are not available in Ontario, only cans, as this does not compare to the cask or draught versions. The mouthfeel is thin and flavour is a bit watery; it’s full of milky chocolate, coffee, a bit of candy, some bitterness. I love to cook with this.

500 ml can, in Toronto. Thick and rich, aroma and flavor of smokey wood, roasted malts, a bit of coffee, chocolate, and a touch of dark fruit. Very nice, without any major faults, but not as complex as some. I had it from the cask last year, and it was better for sure, but I didn’t take notes.

Bottle and draught. Full roasted flavor comes through in the nose. The body is nice, full, and creamy. Well crafted and balanced brew.
