in english pint glass it poured a very dark brown with a light brown head. This beer could have a viscosity rating of 5w30. It clings to the side of the glass. Nice lacing. Got earthy notes in the nose; nuts and caramel. perfect balance between smooth, sweet, creamy and bitter. Highly recommend this beer. bitbucket (2027), Kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a dense and lacy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and roasted nuts. Body and carbonation are both on the light side. Lightly sweet taste of chocolate, oatmeal, figs and just a little roasted malt. Smoky, earthy chocolate finish with light bittering. dwaggs2 (534), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark brown almost black with a creamy tan head. Smelled of roasted caramel and coffee. Tasted pretty much the same. Nice mouthfeel. Smooth drinkable beer, not to thick. ajm (903), Los Angeles, California, USA Jul 29, 2008 This is real good. REAL good. Tastes like a small beer of Victory at Sea - very nice thick coffee, well roasted, sanded down with a very subtle chocolate. Subtle wood texture gives it a fireside feel. Cheers indeed. oxford11 (3), , USA does not count Jul 28, 2008 Great taste, full of favor and beautiful color. Great bottle and great logo with a matching taste. I like all of Fuller’s beers though but I had to talk about this one and recommend this beer to anyone. If you want to find cheap prices on Fuller’s beers go to Bevmo.com as they will price match and even beat any price. Fuller’s can be expensive but if you can find if for a deal, buy it. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg Jul 27, 2008 Bottle from Auchan, rather interesting that I can’t find this one easily in the UK, but is easy to get in Luxembourg! Dark brown, almost black, thin beige head. Nose is burnt malts, toasted, dark fruit, espresso, some dark chocolate. Mouth is dark chocolate, gently roasted malts some coffee. Slightly smoked. Very good, something I’d drink again, but nothing that makes me think ’wow’. Jblauvs (533), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jul 26, 2008 dark dark brown pour, slight head, tanish. dark fruits are abundant in the nose, along with small amounts of mocha. Its so fucking creamy. holy crap. incredible mouthfeel. Taste is a mirror of the aroma, mocha and dark fruits swirl around my tongue in a storm of creamy goodness. Second best can of beer ive ever had behind ten fidy. I love it. rylaad (12), Canada Jul 25, 2008 Incredible. Best beer I have had so far, beat out my old fav Guinness. Pours a beautiful black with a thick creamy head, wonderful aroma and taste. Reminds me a lot like coffee. Not too expensive and a must try.
