SETANTA (581), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a very dark brown with some ruby highlights if held up to the light. Little head, and the aroma is mostly chocolate and coffee, more so chocolate. Taste is leaning more towards the coffee though. Very similar to a coffee or oatmeal stout in my opinion, but it’s very enjoyable and does not disappoint. Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a very very dark brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee, and some smoke. Info: 500ml bottle, 15/4-2008 AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA Jul 1, 2008 I love porters and I love this beer. It is robust, perfect amount of bitterness to balance the sweet maltiness, huge flavor at small alcohol. A little expensive (I paid almost $12 for a 6-pack the other day!) Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Jun 30, 2008 Thanks to ghawener. Drank it during the Eurocup Final 2008. Wow, I had it in my beer watchlist. Pours a nice dark brown, almost black color with a tan head. Medium bodied, perfectly balanced with the caramel malts and the smokiness. blutt59 (2045), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 29, 2008 bottle, color is dark brown with crema head, very pronounced coffer nose, very good espresso and cream flavors with some chocolate, finishes smooth ghawener (953), San Salvador, El Salvador Jun 29, 2008 Bottle: Another great one from the goods folks over at Fullers. Rich, complex and perfectly balanced. This has the highlight from the Euro 2008 final...Germany lost Fuller won again! EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Jun 28, 2008 Gosh, it’s taken me long enough to find this Bottle, my rating 1699. Chocolate and dominant roasted malt nose with just a hint of smoke. Darker-than-Coke pour with a creamy, rocky tan head. Silken, velvety texture on an otherwise watery body. Dry and ashen taste, roast malt and a little cocoa underneath. Rich, deep, warm, rounded dark chocolate tones. Touch of nuttiness. Burned, charcoal, with an enduring light bitterness. Can actually taste their ESB underneath the roast. Aftertaste is long and very dry. Man oh man, could drink pint after pint of this, one of the better sessions I’ve encountered, and after around 50 ratings, my favorite English beer. Absolutely superb
