Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Nice smooth porter, typical of what I have had in the past. I like it a lot because it is fairly inexpensive and high quality

Somehow I hadn’t tried this yet, even though it’s only $2 at my local. Poured a deep dark opaque brown with a nice fluffy head that quickly diminished. Smell was big chocolate and a little smokey. Taste was much the same, big flavor for a relatively thin beer. Smooth and really drinkable. Ends with a nice bitter chocolate note to round it out a bit. Nice classic example.

pours black with a one finger tan head, the aroma is heavy roasted chocolate, coffee. The flavor is very chocolaty and very desert like and then finishes like a cup of coffee. This is an amazing porter, i don’t think i return to the other ones i’ve had after this!

(Sample from July 28, 2006 Beer Club Meeting, bottle from Lion & the Rose on June 3, 2008) Rich, dark, smoky coffee/chocolate flavors. A superb treat fot the tongue. Aroma of roasted cocoa. A thin-medium bodied, easily drinkable porter with a sweet, malty air to it. It would have totally blown me away if it would have been a little less deserty and had a higher alcohol content, but still loved it.

can. aroma unpleasant, notes of aged beer and burnt caramel, instead of "porter" aroma. Appearance is fantastic. dark but not fuzzy, beautiful head. taste is great , although notes of aged beer, but otherwise real good. Got even better as it warmed up. overall great taste but lousy aroma. Could be a bad sample i’ve got. best before 25sep08. could be aged.

I don’t know, I felt really let down by this beer, which is supposed to be a mecca of porters. Pours dark brown, two finger tan crown. Aroma is nothing special. Bitter dark chocolate, a little sweetness, and a bit of tang at work. Mouthfeel is way too thin for my taste. Finish is a bit caustic. Perhaps the beer caught my taste-buds in a bad mood, or maybe I drank it too cold. Either way, I was disappointed and would reach for Anchor or Smutty long before this.

500 ml bottle. Dark brown colour, thin light brown head. Coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. Flavour is roasted malts and coffee, with a bitter and burnt, hoppy aftertaste.

Dark brown color, almost white head that fades quickly. Exquisite aroma of toffee and burnt caramel. Well balanced and round, this brew is not too sweet. the flavor turn arond toast, chocolate and malt. very good
