madscotsman (147), Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA May 20, 2008 tap, poured a dark brown color, with a creamy khaki head. The aroma was awesome with some roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Had a great creamy balance on the palate and a perfect finish. This is a great porter. rcasta (472), El Salvador May 19, 2008 muy buena cerveza del reino unido que aproveche a tomar tantas y tantas veces cuando estuve estudiando en la gran isla. el profesor de economia era tan fiel a la cerveza que habia invertido en las acciones simplemente para poder ir a las reuniones anuales de accionistas, que por supuesto, estaban llenas de cerveza para los asistentes. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA May 18, 2008 A delicious porter, if not my favorite. Wonderful balance of roasted chocolate, smooth creamy caramel. Very complex and deep flavors, roastedness is not overpowering, but mingles with slight bitterness and rich smooth chocolate. A wonderfully balanced and executed porter. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA May 17, 2008 11.2oz bottle. Pours a dark, cherry-brown color; creamy, khaki-colored head with fine-bubbled lacing; an attractive pour. Lots of roasted malts, chocolate, and cocoa in the aroma; creamy coffee and soft roastiness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: pleasant roasted coffee, milk chocolate, and roasted malts; very soft, enjoyable coffee character, if a bit too reliant on that roasted coffee note to fill things out; a touch of smokiness present as well; reasonable, tasty porter. Medium finish: coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, and a touch of smoke; ends with some dough. whiteman1488 (18), New York, USA May 16, 2008 Best porter I’ve ever had. No overpowering chocolate taste/sweetness that you find in a lot of porters. Vyaches (6), qqq, Russia does not count May 13, 2008 intence cofee and rye bread aroma. smooth flavor wth bitterish rye bread aftertaste. i think this porter is short of intensity, that is only my opinion of course! Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam May 12, 2008 Bottle. Deep brownish-black with reddish tint. Small off-white head. Roasted malts, chicory, cocoa predominate in mild nose. Creamy mouthfeel helps coat the tongue with the sublime chocolate malt flavors. Hops delightfully balanced by a subtle string of sweetness, lingering finish. Great stuff. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 10, 2008 Perfect copper/dark amber color with a very thick and full khaki head. Awesome aroma of chocolate malts, a mild roastiness that gives the impression of a sweet coffee. Nice medium body, not too thick. Sweetness really comes through with the initial taste, the finish is what draws out the smooth roasted quality along with the unique porteresque hop flavor.
