Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Very nice chocolate aroma with a bit of coffee. Flavor is dark chocolate , coffee, and roasted malt. Finish is straight espresso. Very flavorful and very drinkable.

Bottle. I was shocked to find I hadn’t rated this one in all this time as I went to check my score after enjoying one while adding lights to the house tonight. I guess I’ve missed a couple other from Fuller’s I will have to sample again like this one. Pours nearly black with light brown head. Aroma is fairly roasty but mostly dark chocolate and maybe a hint of coffee. Flavor is nice and rich with malt and roastiness, light cocoa, and hints of espresso. Finish is clean and light for such a tasty brew with just a hint of bitterness. Smooth and creamy and easy drinking. I enjoyed this one, and I’ve enjoyed quite a few others just like it. I drink one of these at least once a year when the mood strikes.

Pours a dark brown that borders upon black. Reddish caramel hues poke out at the corners. Nice tan head that didn’t want to stick around for long, leaving a ring around the glass from start to finish. Aromas of bittersweet chocolates, roasted malt, chocolate malt, and espresso are most pronounced, with subtle hints of currants. Flavor is a big rush of roasted malt. A slight hoppiness is first to come with some dark chocolate..chocolate malt, burnt wood, all finished off with freshly brewed espresso. Creamy mouth feel...low carbonation, low booze..amazing drinkability. Instant classic.

On tap; poured a dark cola color with an off white head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, toffee and dark fruit. Flavor was similar to the aroma, but dominated more so by a sweet caramel flavor and dark fruit. Body was a little light, but added a nice drinkability to the beer. Very good example for the style. (Rerated it; pushed it up by .1)

Pours dark brown with brown ruby at the edges with off-white bubbles that fade to a few, lots of roasted malt with some dry dark chocolate aromas, sweetness in the nose, coffee fragrances here and there, and faint fruit-berry aromas, has the same flavor as the aromas, lots of roasted malt, some dark roasted malt flavors with some bitter burnt taste that fit in with the other flavors, faint malt sweetness but more on the dry side of the porters beers, has a medium mouth feel, faint dark roasted or burnt malt bitterness on the palate at the finish that had some overly roasted coffee bean flavors, has a medium mouth feel and is very easy to gulp down.

Nice blend of chocolate, toffee, and currant aromas. Dark mahogany pour with a slow building medium sized tan head. It tastes of smoke, french roast coffee, and charred wood. Sweet espresso finish. Great balance.

Pours dark brown with ruby red highlights and a tan head. Smells of chocolate, dark fruit (figs, raisins, some plums), some roastiness. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, coffee, some nice peppery splashes, elements of toffee. Mouthfeel is full with a finish that yields a nicely balanced roastiness.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours a beautiful dark brown with a light tan head that dissipates rather quickly. This beer has heavy aromas of coffee, camp-fire smoke, butter and roasted malts. The flavor is of coffee, malts, burnt nuts, and a slight hint of toffee sweetness. Mouthfeel is a little on the light side for a porter, but this brew is still excellent!
