Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Bottle. Roasted malt, dark cacao/chocolate, sweet. Small creamy brown head, mostly diminishing. Black body. Heavy bitter, a little bit of chocolate sweetness shines through; average / long duration. Medium to full body, oily and creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very nice beer, good one for a rainy day!

Dark porter with a very slight red tint when held up to the light. Tight off white head that lasts pretty well. Wonderful aromas of rish malt, chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Strong flavours of caramel and roasted malt, with chocolate and perfectly integrated hops. Thick rich mouthfeel with malty finish. This is undoubtedly one of the better porters I have ever had.

Very dark almost black. Aroma of coffee and bitter chocolate. The flavor mimics the aroma and has a smooth mouthfeel and a perfectly balanced finish. One of the best proters I’ve tasted so far.

Had this beer on 2/19/2003. Color is deep maroon with great carbonation and fizzy pop like head. Aroma is a light fresh roasted scent. Taste is nicely roasted. Starting with a medium body that has a smooth feel and goes down a mildly crisp feel. Finish comes in with a bright sweet roasted flavor that rolls into a rich mellow toasted flavor backed by a gentle bitterness. In the end there is a heavy sweet tone that hangs. One of the best imported Porters I have ever had. It is well balanced and some what smooth, but it could have been better if it didn’t have the sweet tones at the very end.

Pours a pleasing ruby drink with a small head. Nose of roasted nuts, cloves and raisin. Typically light in body but with some maltiness and a nice bitter finish. One of the great British beers.

Bottle from my local Fullers pub. Pours a deep amber, almost brown, with an off white head. Nose of black coffee and chocolate with some butterscotch hints and a taste to match. Medium body with a malty cocoa finish. Not bad for a brew you can pick up at the local, would like to try a cask version at some point.

From bottle : Pours a deep dark brown color with a small quickly gone offwhite head. A nice chocolate roasted malt aroma with some caramel. A roasted malt flavor with hints of chocolate and a very nice caramel finish. Medium body, creamy feel.
