MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Aug 9, 2009 This was lovely, perhaps the best porter I’ve had yet. The colour was a rich, dark colour hinting at the malts and chocolate within, and the enormous head was also top-notch. Aroma and taste again featured both the chocolate and the malt, with little evidence of hops. A most enjoyable, smooth drink. strowlands8 (75), Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2009 Looks great tastes great. When I bought this at the local LCBO I really did not know what to expect. Very dark, thin light brown head, big chocolate flavour, with some complexity and a great slightly bitter aftertaste. Hopefully i’ll be able to find this one again. Pawola22 (676), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Aug 2, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black body with a reddish tint to it. Thin, light brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is medium sweet English malts and roasts with some smoke, chocolate, and fruits. Flavor is roasts and a light smoke, fruity English malts, some licorice, toffees, nuts, and chocolate. A very late hop presence, but not much. Finishes rich and roasty with a medium length aftertaste. Light bodied, somewhat watery but full flavored, and dry. Overall, a solid and classic porter. A bit over-rated, but tasty and full of flavor. JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA Aug 1, 2009 Pours a dark chestnut brown, with a good off-white head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and malt. Taste a bitter coffee with chocolate highlights and hints of roasted malts and nuts. Finishes dry with good bitterness...it is what it is... Sudennorthstar (17), Michigan, USA Jul 31, 2009 This beer tasted like a carbonated chocolate latte. It looks great: a dark brown hue that was slightly transparent at the edges of my special beer glass. The taste at first was almost too chocolately and coffee-like, but I think I served it too cold. I had it with spicy-hot BBQ wings and pizza, and it tasted amazing together. I highly recommend this beer if you can find it. MereLikesBeer (153), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Jul 31, 2009 I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617. Honestly, I didn’t like it all too much. It did pour a nice color, chocolate brown and it’s pretty transparent. It had a thin foamy head that made it’s way into a thin ring around the glass. It smelled like milk, which was weird and made me uncomfortable. It did have a nice chocolate taste and a slight bit of coffee in there, but there was only light carbonation and a very weak mouthfeel. I did not enjoy this beer. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jul 31, 2009 From the tap poured dark brown with a fair amount of head. Nice sweet malty flavor with a lingering finish. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 28, 2009 Dark brown with red tints, a nice milk chocolate tan head. The aroma is big and roasty with dark chocolate, mixed berries. Taste is smooth chocolate milk, caramel, fruity toffee, and then a light astringent malt bitter finish. Nice.
