Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Bottle. Medium sized tan head and fine-medium sized bubbles. Mostly opaque, carbonated and a dark brown hue. Malty, caramel and roasted coffee aroma. Flavor was chocolate and roasted coffee from start to finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Good lacing. A very good Porter IMO. Well worth a try!

Can't believe it took this long to get this! Pours a reddish brown with a medium light tan head. Nose is caramel, sweetened malt, and a hint of chocolate. The taste is smooth. Chocolate, malt, light roasted notes, very little bitterness. Finishes very smooth. Good beer, but I think a little overrated.

Very dark body and head, and a stiff musty aroma with a very , very, very dry and slightly thick flavour. Overall OK, but slightly overrated.

2nd Re rate Has become my standby at the local pub when nothing new to try. Just does not do it for me anymore to rate this lofty of a rating. Tasting kind of sour lately - too many times for it to be a bad keg Previous 4.6 1st Re rate: Had from a bottle for the first time - previously only had on draft. Does not stand up as well bottled up - still a great Porter - but not worth a 5.0 as I had rated before in a bit of sophomoric euphoria! Did not have that same frothiness or chocolaty undertones. Original Draft - Reminds me of a chocolate milkshake - my first choice at the local Pub. The standard by which all other Porters are rated against in my book.

Canned(500ml). -Almost black coloured, medium to big creamy pale brown head, coffee cocoa nose. Roasted malt, roasted coffee chocolate and notes of smoke. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Easy drinkable and well balanced porter.

Dark brown with a dark beige head. Very malty aroma with dark chocolate notes. A little caramel sweetness in the taste, followed by roasted coffee and medium bitterness at the end.

Draught at Isabella’s in Dubuque, IA. Clear dark dark brown with bubbly tan head. Smells and tastes of black licorice and brown sugar. Alcohol flavor also seemed more prominent than the stated 5.4%. Moderately carbonated.

(Rerate, prev 2005/1/22, 7-3-6-3-13) Near black colored, strongly roasted sweet aroma with licorice, chocolate and smoke, fine aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor starts with strong coffee and roastiness, ends with more dry tones. Burned malts last in aftertaste.
