500 mL can. Pours the darkest brown you can think of, light passes only on the edges of the glass. A massive head of mocha foam sits on top and never leaves. Leather, earth, chocolate, spicy hop and mildly roasty malt character. Bitter roast through and through with a touch of caramel sweetness. Finishes just on the bitter side of rounded. Moderate body with modest carbonation. See this at the LCBO all the time and never bothered to grab one until now--glad I did.

Sabor inicialmente me pareceu com mel...

Godibilissima

Bottle from some shop in Tallinn harbour. Pours a dark brown whereas in the glass it’s black with a red glare. Head is creamy and laces well. Nose is a thrilling dark roastiness and coffee with sweeter cocoa and chocolate notes, and some caramel in the distance. Taste is at first coffee roastiness and chocolate sweetness, then continuing with a fairly pronounced hop-driven bitterness. Medium body, carbonation is quite flat, finish on the dry side. It’s really good, and what’s especially good about it - it’s widely available! The kind of beer I keep returning to.

Chocolate, coffee, leather, bread and toast in the aroma. Almost black with a red tint. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium to full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a rich Porter with layers of flavours. Brilliant!

BBD 11/15/14. Clear pour that is almost as dark as a stout, but has a dark ruby cast. Slightly below average head volume and retention, but laces well. Nice nose of caramel, coffee, toffee and a slight burnt chocolate smokiness. Medium bodied with a texture that approaches creamy. Slightly below normal carbonation with just a touch of effervescence on the finish. The excellent flavor profile is complex and balanced. It begins with coffee then flows into a light caramel sweetness coupled with toffee. Hops come forward in the middle with a light flavor and bitterness over a smoky chocolate. The finish is somewhat dry and leaves you with a lingering chocolate smokiness with a mineral character.
