Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

There’s a dearth of Baltic porter in Canada now so I decided to try some of the British offerings so I got six Fullers at the local. I can’t say I like it as much as the sweeter, fuller bodied, stronger Baltic porters but this is a very good example of the traditional British porter and a superbly produced beer with excellent quality. I’m quite satisfied with this as an interim substitute. This impressive embossed bottle had a freshness date and write up on the beer’s awards. Poured a luxurious rich clear dark mahogany looks almost cola- ruby when glass held against a strong light. Large cascading puffy brown head that stayed for a while then dissipated to a beige lace that stayed to the end of the drink. It has a moderate amount of effervescence . Smells of chocolate and Caramel with hints of wine-like berry. Starts rather sharp to the tongue accented with dry hops and carbonation then builds into a creamy medium-full bodied mouth feel punctuated with a balance of musty chocolate semi sweetness and hops...finishes smooth with a pleasant dry-cocoa after taste that is not as tinny as dry stouts. All in all a very good drink and a fine porter.

Pours a deep, dark reddish brown with virtually no head. Aroma of coffee and malt. Flavour is an explosion of complexity, coffee, roasted malts and general yumminess. Palate is faultless, smooth and rich. The archetypal porter.

Excellent porter. Very complex, dominated by chocolate, coffee, and roasted bitterness. Continues to develop in the finish. Great brew.

500ml can Very interested in this one...pours to a small, tight tan head. Impenetrable black colour has my attention. Aroma is tons of chocolate and coffee, how can this not be something good! Mouthfeel is smooth, and the body is far more substantial than I expected. Flavour is a delight - lots of coffee up front and chocolate in the back. Carbonation is a tad distracting, but I’ll look past that. This is a great beer

Poured a amber, dark black with a thick tan head. Aroma consisted of chocolate, coffee. Roasted malt was definately evident in the flavors along with some choclate and mild coffee and caramel. This was the most BALANCED beer i’ve ever tasted, just perfect our of a glass from Munich.

Pours deep ruby. Tall, fluffy lingering tan head leaves intricate lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt, very malty and somewhat spicy. Flavor is intricate blend of chocolate, caramel and dark malts, some residual sweetness. Palate full body, creamy mouthfeel, fair bitterness with average carbonation. Is this Heaven?

A longtime favourite. Pours a brownish black with a small brown head. Heavenly aromas of dark chocolate and coffee. Incredibly rich crystal and amber malting, chocolate and creamy coffee abound. Complex, dark, creamy, satisfying. Good carbonation, doesn’t get in the way of the excellent smooth texture and soft mouthfeel. I have yet to taste a beer to match Fuller’s London Porter.

Edit: Damn you Bell’s Expedition!

This is a fantastic beer. Dark. Mysterious. Malty, sweet with a hoppy covering and a silky smooth finish. Current fav beer.
