Commercial Description:
Bottled and (in USA) kegged - pasteurised.
Fuller’s London Porter captures the flavours of those original brews perfectly, although you won’t find a cloudy pint these days! Rich, dark and complex, at 5.4% ABV the beer has an outstanding depth of flavour.
It is brewed from a blend of Brown, Crystal and Chocolate malts for a creamy delivery balanced by traditional Fuggles hops. The range of flavours works well with a wide variety of foods, ranging from rich meat dishes, to oysters, and even chocolate puddings.

Bottle: Pours a deep dark brown with a thick pillowy layer of tan head. Chocolate, coffee, and smoke are in the nose. Lots of roastiness. Very silky textured, goes down smoothly. Lightly carbonated. Flavors are mostly chocolate and coffee, but there is a good bit of molasses sweetness to it. Finsihes like it starts; smooth, creamy, and rich. Good stuff, cheap, and widely available.

50 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Dark allmost black colour with a great large head. Great aroma of smooth coffee, chocolate and hints of roastedness. Wonderfull smooth flavour of roasted malt, coffee and hints of chocolate and liquorice. Ends smooth bitter with a very long aftertaste. This one is a really great traditional porter.

Deep ruby color. Aroma is roasty and sweet — chocoate and toffee. The flavor is full of roasted malts, chocolate and a hint of coffee and smoke. Slightly bitter aftertaste that lingers with a roasted coffee taste. Smooth and creamy on the palate. An outstanding porter.

Gosh, it’s taken me long enough to find this Bottle, my rating 1699. Chocolate and dominant roasted malt nose with just a hint of smoke. Darker-than-Coke pour with a creamy, rocky tan head. Silken, velvety texture on an otherwise watery body. Dry and ashen taste, roast malt and a little cocoa underneath. Rich, deep, warm, rounded dark chocolate tones. Touch of nuttiness. Burned, charcoal, with an enduring light bitterness. Can actually taste their ESB underneath the roast. Aftertaste is long and very dry. Man oh man, could drink pint after pint of this, one of the better sessions I’ve encountered, and after around 50 ratings, my favorite English beer. Absolutely superb

Dark red-brown to black with a significant, though fading dense head. Upon cracking open the bottle, I was struck by the dark fruit fragrances, particularly of sweet prunes and figs. Directly over my glass I notice dark rich malty molasses and the slightest bit of roasted coffee. I can hardly remember drinking anything quite so smooth. the carbonation is so soft leading to a delicate creaminess that few brews attain. This smoothness is mirrored in the flavor profile. Sweet dark fruits and gentle chocolate malts avail themselves with only the slightest bit of bitterness, eminating from a conservative floral hopping and a subtle charcoal roastiness. A slight hint of lactic acid helps to balance this sweetness in fashion similar to colas. The lingering flavors are first charcoal and then slowly coming back to those prunes and figs. This is really a fabulous beer, and easily my favorite porter.

Best bottle ive seen. Pours completly flat but the light carbonation goes with the roasty chocolate and coffe. Very silky and full flavor. Im not a Porter fan but this is a classic. Best ive ever tried in its class

My little spot of heaven. Pours dark brown with red highights. Head is tan. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate, toffee and maybe a little bit of hops. Flavor is terrific swirl of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Not overly heavy, just good flavors. Finish is a little bitter but still retains sweetness.
